The 3S tournament at PU2011 will be 2v2. I do have a question though, should this tournament be $10 per team or $15 per team like the 3v3s? Just wondering where the players would like the stakes to be set at.
Also, another minor change. KOF98:UM and KOF2k2:UM will be run on 360 and we will make sure to have at least 2 arcade sticks available in-house for players to use.
I’ll try to get KOF 98:UM for my Xbox360. Should have enough time to get some Microsoft points by then so you can add me to people who can supply a station if required.
Hey do you guys have posters for this event? I manage a local Video Game Store here in Indianapolis called McVans and we would love to help promote your even. We would even be willing to give away Gift Certificates for prizes if your interested.
That sounds fantastic. Either Nathan or I will get a hold of you once we get posters made. Someone could probably bring them by at Naptown Clutch in Feb
PU2011 Avatar Pack just got a nice update. Added Vampire Savior, Melty Blood: AA, Arcana Heart 3, and even KOFXIII avatars. Here’s hoping KOFXIII will be out in time for the event! MvC3 avatars have also been updated with Storm and Viper. Enjoy : )
So we need to settle on the MvC2 rules. I’d like to run low-tier, and I’m leaning toward the ruleset for West Coast Warzone I saw posted in the Naptown Clutch thread:
I’m very proud to announce that PU2011 is part of the EVO 2011 Tournament Season! Get more details in this week’s edition of the Wakeup SRK podcast.
This is a great opportunity not only for PowerUp, but also for the Dayton/Cincy scene, so I expect all the locals to bring their best as we draw more out of state players.
I can’t remember who but someone from Dayton (I think) posted on Facebook that they were seen on Family Feud with a PowerUp shirt on. Who was that and was that true? Pretty funny
Oh yeah, PowerUp 2011 is going to be fairly stellar. I’m pretty sure Nathan will have pre-reg up soon. Also, I will be announcing an event for Feb 5th where you can win a free weekend pass to PowerUp and other great stuff (like cash!). Now to get that other Astro City cab so we can have a head-to-head setup for the arcade tournaments.
PU2011 online pre-registration is live! Go to the PowerUp Store to pre-register until April 21.
The only games not available for pre-registration are KOFXIII, MK9 (pending official release dates), and MvC2 (pending finalization of low-tier rules).
T-shirt pre-orders will be online as soon as I get the final logo files from the artist, and finalize the deal with my screen printer. I will make more announcements about these remaining items as needed.
