Every time I see someone try to make grimdark things out of things that shouldn’t be, I just think of this.
EDIT: to reiterate, you can be serious without being grim dark. That Super Power Beatdown where Scorpion faced White Ranger, Scorpion is from an M-rated franchise and White Ranger is from a Y7 franchise, but they were both portrayed in a way where neither character seemed out of place in the other’s world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57ta7mkgrOU
#DIRTYLAUNDRY was better but I enjoyed this one even though I didn’t like the Power Ranger (was already a bit too old for them) when they were running on tv.
All in all his bootleg channel is the shit. The Venom short film and the Judge Dredd cartoon series were amazing as well.
Not to mention the full-length Judge Dredd film released in 2012. First good action film I’ve seen since the 90’s.
On a related not I feel that the treatment the Power Rangers got here, should have happened to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles a long fucking time ago.
Those movie producing faggots need to understand that the kids who went berserk on that shit are now in their fucking 30’s and would prefer to see their childhood heroes in a more mature fashion, displaying how they’ve grown up with them.
None of the kids today will give a shit about it if you reboot a 20-30 year old series. They’ll already dislike it when their uncle or dad says: "Oh I used to watch xyz as well."
Times change and shit.
And this is why legally the dude has a strong case. Hes spoofing a whole genre power rangers created, including other other properties saban licensed like kamen rider. Legally parodys are protected and as long as he can prove this in court we could potentially see alot more like it.
Black ranger fight took too long. Morphed rangers are strong enough to accidentally kill a human without using full strength or resorting to weapons, but I guess that was where they were trying too hard for graphic violence and gore.
I liked it, it was a good, funny hilarious fan film, no way in heck could it ever stand on its own but it was entertaining and as a fan of the franchise in my youth I have no problems with it aside from being unwilling to show it to school age children.
I liked it but i thought it was tad bit to dark. it could have been just as powerful and still had a little goofiness to it. I like the new take however.
blame the director. the stunt group who worked on this are the same who did john wick, when you have a talented group like that directors tend to fuck up the talent because they have a specific vision for fights when they know shit about fights.
I think the reason there was no morphing was because Zordon is the one that grants them that power and, you know, his side lost. He’s probably dead or on the run. Only evidence against this is black ranger landing from miles up with no problem because his suit protects him, and that might be a thing where his powers simply hadn’t worn out yet, sort of like how in the show green ranger powers were on a very limited battery. Aside from that he didn’t even use the suit except for the bullet proof helmet.
Or maybe I’m full of shit and reading too much out of a 12 minute film that was crammed with references and flashbacks.
