For Jam Session, there’s a few ways you can extend the combos.
You can the easy extension which is, 6H, call Jam, st.M, st.H, Cent Rush M
You can also do instead, 6H, call Jam, st.H, S, SJC, Cent Rush M (different timing and you gotta sjc so its a bit trickier)
Or you can do, 6H, S+call Jam Session, energy Javelin, cent Rush M (since the javelin will push them down again), Cent Rush H.
That extension looks like this.
There’s also another video somewhere out there with some other extensions, or my Nova Prime video from a while back that shows different ones.
Experiment with it and I’m sure you’ll figure some stuff out.
Nova/Zero/Doom is the better choice, but between those…probably Nova/Zero/Hawkeye. Since Hawkeye is a better character and because Zero likes Hawkeye arrows. The only problem is learning to extend your combos with Hawkeye’s assist, thought it might not really be needed since you’ll likely never use Zero’s.
Its not about who can abuse the anchor position more its about who can give your point character the greatest chance of success. Hence why a team like Nova/Doom/Strider is better than Nova/Dante/Strider because beam just makes Nova that much better. Though Dante/Strider is the better shell to play if Doom or Dante’s on point.
Nova/Zero/Strider wouldn’t work since Nova and Zero would still need a stronger horizontal assist. Hawkeye, Doom, or Rocket will all work well since they provide really strong neutral. Also Strange or Ironman can work as well.
Doom can be rawtagged for unscaled and is still a capable anchor.
Funny cuz I was telling a friend a few days back to play Nova Zero Doom… Build a meter, DHC to LL loops =(((. Nova + Death DHC + Neutral Assist. May not be the most conventional application of this kind of Nova team construction, but should work theoretically. Lvl 2 Zero + Plasma!!! #CHEAP.
Yup, it’s Zero anyway. So if Zero is on point he will be meter positive of a kill (more than likely). It’s a safe DHC in (with free pressure) off a blocked Hyper from Nova. Nova has a variety of infinites for even more meter building options. You can also use any extra Sougenmu time to keep the double Hadangeki if your enemy was killed like this.
Thanks so much for the help guys. I actually have a team (Firebrand/Dorm/Shuma) but I have players interested in the game and your information has helped so much.
X/Nova’s definitely good, but suffers from bad matchups against top tiers. Point Nova would be something I’d like to be able to go for against certain teams. How is Nova as a second-slot character? I only ever see people run him on point, would he do alright with just Plasma behind him?
Yeah I think Nova second is alright if you have access to a good assist in back. Safe DHC’s including an amazing projectile punish/mixup tool, unblockable setups with certain characters (Vergil, Dante), and Grav Pulse is a good assist for certain zoners as well.
X-23/Nova is something I looked into before I started playing Nova seriously and before TAC infinites were even discovered. In light of the way the game has turned out I think it has potential. Plus you can run Nova first for certain shitty matchups as you said. However I can’t think of one assist that will do what both characters need aside from plasma beam.
Anyway Nova does not need an OTG assist at all. And I bet he can confirm off of Crescent Scythe into a full combo.
