It has more problems than a lack of anchor.
Nova needs two good neutral assists to be effective, though it can be worth sacrificing one if it gives him access to huge damage like on Nova/Strange/Spencer. In this case all you have is Shopping Cart, which is good for Nova but doesn’t have the range he really needs in a single neutral assist. Plus you won’t be getting high-damage hard tag combos unless Frank has levels. The most use you may find out of the restand assist would be crumple, tag to Spencer, then do Bee’s tech to tag into Frank for levels though I don’t think you’ll get enough for level 4/5. I don’t think Cart is a good enough single assist for Spencer either.
Frank teams come with an inherent risk that if the point dies before Frank gets levels, you’re stuck with a significantly neutered character that needs to get to level 4/5 off a touch without significant resources. Frank/Spencer doesn’t get that outside of a double photo with Spencer alpha assist. He needs a neutral assist behind him and ideally a DHC or THC that grants him levels easily. To that end I can’t see putting anyone but Dante, RR, Ammy or Vergil behind him.
Combofiend has also won long sets with worse teams like Nova/Storm/Dante, so I wouldn’t take his success with them as an indicator of the team’s strength; he’s just really good even when messing around. I’d really consider something more solid for a main team, replacing either Spencer or Frank if you’re looking to play Nova.

I like Nova, and want to know who are his best friends, I know spencer and strange form team nemo but I dont like strange, any help will be reaaaaally appreciated

Nova is great with Frank. It’s just Spencer if you really want to run Nova/Frank

Do know that Nova/Frank is miles behind other teams like Nova/Strange or Nova/Doom
For Nova/Spencer, Doom is your best bet. Iron Man could work for intro swag.

I’d run the order Nova/Doom/Spencer for the same reason Nemo puts Strange in the middle: it preserves your order much better after hard tag combos (and TAC’s) which this team is essentially built around. Insaynne is probably the best-known player that runs this team, and he puts Doom last which has its merits (Spencer has access to a neutral assist if Nova dies, DHC from Photon Array to Bionic Maneuvers leads to more damage though that really shouldn’t matter on this team). So you could go either way. Taskmaster is also a very good option in place of Doom, dougiie will back me up on that.
Nova/Ammy is a lot of fun and very powerful, but I think Doom, Strange, RR and Frank are the only real options in the middle. Nova/Spencer/Ammy sounds really bad.
I would say that Insaynne’s team is better than Nemo’s team.
Anyone would think that until they play a good Strange. But I don’t think the quality of either team is that far away.

Trying out Nova/Taskmaster/Hawkeye, I’m wondering, does Nova get any mileage out of Task’s up/diagonal arrows in neutral/mixups/combos? because two horizontal assists feels redundant.
By the way, I had no idea how fun cr.M+triple arrow was. So braindead, I love it.
Stick with Task arrows. You’ll be able to do stuff like CentRush + Task for mixups. You can’t do that with Hawkeye arrows since he’s too fast. Definitely recommend dropping one of them though, but if its for fucks go right ahead.
I was playing with Nova diagonal arrows when i was testing Nova Task Iron Man and diagonal arrows is pretty cool cuz it allows you to play reversed. Instead of assist by ground and Nova by air, you get the opposite. But yeah i wouldn’t really spend too much time with this team. ALTHOUGH I WILL SAY, I think Hawkeye Nova Task could work.
I feel like the thing with the Doom team is, it’s a damage engine team, but characters don’t die often enough. You see people falling out of stuff half the time, or you can only get one foot dive rep for some reason, or it doesn’t build enough meter and Doom has to work with a bar and two bad assists… idk. I think part of the strength of Nemo’s team is that he always has meter and he never leaves a character standing if he gets a hit. Doom and Strange both kind of have to stall if they don’t have a real assist to work with, and Strange is better at doing that.
Hawkeye + Nova’s alpha assist is interesting, there was a guy at Toryuken(?) running that a while back.
To be honest, if you’re not seeing people die fighting against the Doom team, you’re probably not watching Insaynne enough loll. I have never seen him get a hit/grab and not kill but to be honest they’re just two teams that do the same shit in slightly different ways lol
I’m actually really liking the thought of Hawkeye Nova Taskmaster now that I think about it. Of course it’s probably better with Hawkeye Nova Doom though
I see Insaynne and Infrit not killing people all the time lol. But I also don’t play with Insaynne in person like you do so I’m just going off of streamed matches. Nemo’s team just strikes me as more efficient and consistent, and matchup-wise Strange is better than Doom. Also Bolts is probably a better single neutral assist than Beam for Nova and Spencer; plus doesn’t Spencer benefit greatly from an assist that keeps the opponent standing?
Yup. I was actually gonna mention that earlier in my last post that Bolts keeps them standing. That’s the one thing I HATE about Plasma Beam; it pops them up
Insaynne has really stepped it up recently, though. I’ve seen a few drops, but he’s getting way more consistent. Infrit is a great player, but he does not in any way play Nova/Spencer/Doom correctly. Feels very Nemo-ish when it gets going.
