Odd I always change it to unlimited time. I think TO’ing is a bitch move. (I’ve never actively sought out a win by TO. I always go for the KO.)
Marvel and Smash are totally different, the comparisons really need to stop.
Thank you for quoting my post, and clearly not having actually read it.
I was simply asking if you guys could see a possibility of that or of any changes at all in the future. I never said I had a problem with anything I listed. I actually really enjoy this game without limitations, like I said, I was just trying to get a feel for what the competitive atmosphere (better word than scene? Jesus way to be pretentious).
And if you don’t understand what I mean by competitive atmosphere, and you think I simply am asking, “Is this game competitive,” than you not only have no right to insult me on any dimension due to clear and obvious stupidity, but you probably shouldn’t even be posting on these boards, as you made it clear you don’t actually like to read posts before going on the all out offensive immediately after jumping to conclusions.
GG, bro.
I just said they were totally different… :wtf:
Personally I think the game should be based around watching the CPU play itself after you stay on the title screen for too long. I think that’s really the only way to make this game fair. Each player will pick a side, and play rock paper scissors if they both want the same side to determine who gets what.
Just don’t even bring them up. Most of the threads you have created you bring up brawl in it in some shape or form. Im not bagging on smash players the scene or whatever. But if you bring it up it will always result in a “lulz smash” argument which get repetitive and old quick, they are very unnecessary.
Yes I suppose that’s true.
I’ve just been into competitive brawl for several years now, and MvC3 is my first foray into capcom competitive gaming, so it’s only natural for me to associate it with something I already know. I’ll try to avoid that association in the future.
It’s dawned on me that Smash with XF would be hilarious.
And conversely, Marvel with Smash Balls.
No changes. No nothing.
You play as is. If you don’t like it. Stop playing. Simple as. If you don’t like X Factor, go back to 2, of play Super. Or, if you’ve got deep social and mental problems, pick up Smash.
X Factor is what is currently making the game so exciting. Maybe toned down slightly is the sweet spot, but it’s not ruining the game. No X Factor, No Combofiend Bionic Arm video. And no hype. That’s what Marvel is. FUCKING HYPE!
to shats:
it’s a bit like showing up to play a round of golf with some serious golfers and saying that you are a really good mini-golfer.
mini-golf is awesome, and sure it takes skill, but it’s better not to bring it up while you’re in the pro-shop before your round starts.
edit: also, if you are a great mini-golfer you might be able to beat a great golfer at a game of mini-golf. still not a good idea to bring it up on the links.
More individual character depth? You mean Metaknight - The Game?
Your Brawl friends hate the game because they don’t know how to block outside of holding a trigger and knowing it’ll stop everything outside of a throw. They also probably don’t understand that running/jumping straight at the person doesn’t work like in Brawl (hurr mind games).
I’m not having this conversation with you. Your opinions are yours, and I’ll choose to respect them, as I hope you would choose to respect mine. Arguing these two games does nothing anywhere, not to mention this is not the place regardless, and we simply are not going to change each others minds, especially considering that you haven’t attempted to understand high level brawl play, and thusly can’t have an appreciation for it. Not insulting you or anything, just simply stating what I think.
Also, metaknight isn’t THAT overpowered. and I could say the same thing about sentinel in mvc2.
Wow this literally has to be the best analogy that I have ever heard. I owe you a beer if we magically meet ever haha.
Ugh, every time this shit comes up…
Brawl is not that brain dead. It’s a nice game. The dev team doesn’t want it to be a competitive game. Smashers do. Hence the rules. End of story.
MvC3 is not that complex. It’s a nice game. The dev team wanted to widen the skill gap. Reception was lukewarm to positive. Hence 80% of the threads here. End of story.
This is an MvC3 forum so understand Smash doesn’t have a place here. Not to shit on Smash, that’s just purity of thesis. However, I hate when people who know jack about a game spit on it. You don’t like it done for traditional fighters, don’t do it to alternate fighters. Got some of that action during the SFxTekken announcement; I been to Zaibatsu and SRK - both sites were spitting bullshit about the other’s game. Embarrassing.
Grow up with this clan ignorance, both sides - far as the world at large is concerned we’re all losers for even caring about winning in a game *not *about Angry Birds or Farming in 'Villes.
im going to evo, i expect cold beer brought to me, by you, when I arrive.
jk. but yeah hit me up at evo, i’ll be the guy who doesnt reek of mildew and BO.
edit: there is a good chance I will be drunk. ask shinblanka.
I actually lol’d.
And I never meant to make the comparison for other people to discuss, I was simply stating the point from which I am familiar, and why I’m asking whatever it is I’m asking, since I’m new to this forum, relatively, and I don’t really know what’s kosher yet. A lot of this talk is from people seeing that I mentioned smash, and clicking reply right then without reading to find out why. Like I said, I’ll avoid it. I wasn’t aware it caused so much riff-raff.
In your defense this place can be testy amongst themselves, don’t take offense.
Technically no game is brain dead. Diddy Kong racing could be competitive if enough people enjoyed it and there was a scene. Same with Mario Party Bumper Balls mini game. If enough people really enjoyed it enough then you could find ways to make it competitive.
Nothing really is brain dead unless it is totally random. There are always better ways to play something.
Competition makes anything fun, we played Rock, Paper, Scissors in the back of Denjin for months and it was really fun!
Thank god for other intelligent players. I don’t know what I’d do if there weren’t at least as many as there are.
