How the bloody hell can I use downloaded vista themes? I tried Vistaglazz but it crashes when I try to patch the style file. I tried manually in %systemroot% but it won’t allow me to set permission to the uxtheme.dll.

I think I got it to work now…except all the ones I download don’t have a .theme file. WTF gives?

I got some theme files to work (the ones with a .theme file), although the thin ones still have the giant Vista orb for the start button. 
Just got a new one.

Ron are you using SP1? 64 or 86? (afaik, SP164 doesn’t have a proper Vistaglazz, you’d have to personally take hold of the files and replace them yourself).
But if it’s just SP186, I think Vistaglazz is still RC1, which worked for me personally but some other people reported having problems with it.
In your ‘theme settings’ are your themes listed properly? I had a problem before where almost all of them were listed under variances of the same name and it stopped me from using certain themes. So I’d have 3 listed under “hal9000,” and another 2 for “fuji” etc.
I don’t remember how it was solved though.
