If I drop Bison, the top reason would be picking up a more offense oriented character. If U2 stays charge motion, it’s kinda Capcom’s way of saying, “We really want you to just play Bison *this *way instead.” I really just want to connect with some characters and just play it my way. I felt great rushing and poking people out, and then forward throw -> Ultra 2 50/50 and bampf, land it on their gut. Game over. If it missed? Dash back. Yeah I am okay with the recovery nerf. It’s kinda too good to be true lol.
If it is charge then I’m just gonna be like, rush, poke and sit back or win without really using the Ultra even if I have the meter. It’s things like that which annoy me. You look at tons of other characters and even they get damaged to like 50% and have a sufficient Ultra meter, they will pull off something and finish off the other guy. Bison’s setups are all reactionary, so if the opportunity comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, it won’t, and that’s the end of the match. A lot of other characters create those opportunities for themselves. I’ll likely switch to a character of that nature.
There’s nothing wrong or bad with the character, it’s just the way you’re kinda limited to winning with.
^ I switched to Seth for somewhat the same reason… he is a LOT more rushdown oriented and creative than Bison and much more satisfying (and frustrating).
A lot of people are playing dic because they wanted an offense-driven charge character, instead they have a footsie/poke character like Chun and Rose, only slightly more offensive because he has SK instead of fireballs.
I wonder if there will be any other changes. It’s still too early to know what SF4.2 Bipson will look like. Wait and see…
I hope they give him an Overhead. PP was useless against good players anyway it was more a deterrent, with the new charge motion it serves that same function. When I started SSF4 I had already forgotten about ultras anyway, 90% of my SF4 matches were won without a single ultra. Most 09ers will see it like that

If I could take one thing out of CVS2 Bison and drop it onto SSF4 Bison, it would be the Psycho Crusher and not Psycho Banish. That crap chips like 3 hits and flies two fucking screens across. SSF4 EX-Psycho is just one screen.
The deterrent factor was mostly the fact it was a motion ultra, meaning the other person knew we could activate it on the drop of a hat. As a charge move most of the deterrent factor is gone as it will be way too obvious when we are charging for it since we can’t combo into it j.mpx2 does not count. Yeah its what we all dealt with in Vanilla to some extent but it is still annoying to be given a great tool, one thats pretty easy to beat outside of the 50/50 setups only to basically see it taken away.
I wouldn’t mind headstomp and dr getting the vs series treatment and becoming less flaky on the tracking
I think making it a charge is a pretty big thing. Just having his U2 sitting there would completely change the fight for most chars. Now being a charge move, it wont be as intimidating as it used to be. Like it has been said several times already, it wasnt like it was ever really relied on for anything except a mental advantage. The Boss is still going to be one bad MF, but like Kerry said earlier, “Welcome back to vanilla”. But I am Bison lifer, so I would play him even if he could only do s.RH!
Frame advantage on lk sk and mk sk not this even bs we get. He still really isnt a feared character. So maybe givung this will destroy ppl in the corner. Plz give skull driver a better hit box to punish ppl accordingly. Overhead would make his corner game gdlk as would a better prioritized hell attack. Maybe dictators zero 3 air throw. I would rather have pp be his super than ultra. I mean when do you really need to land a super inless u want to be fashly? I know I fogot something but im going to watch resident evil now
