Possible SSF4:AE Match Up Changes For & Against Lord Bison

Unlikely. I’ve never seen Az refer to Boxer as Bison. Every time I’ve seen him mention Bison, it’s Dictator.

They better cut short his special moves charge time like Sonic boom and reduce start up on U2 to balance this shit out.

Thought instead of messing with the divekicks I’d love it more if they instead took away the startup invulv of cannon spike and just gave it invuln after the 3rd frame so itd be worthless as areversal. Having that along with her divekicks was totally retarded though. And then stupid ass spiral arrow.

The u2 change wont be too big a deal if they knock the startup down a bit. I didn’t really land mostly bc I never really practiced the qcf motion enough though and bc I kept forgetting about it.

I don’t think seth needed much more nerfing though besides some of his air priority in air to air attacks. His jumping fierce never gives me trouble anymore. I just focus dash that shit all day, its really not hard. Just knock off another 100 hp, It’d be even more fun to see him get ultrad then.

I’ve said it before that Bison’s slide really needs less startup. Unless its lagging online that shit really never lands on me and most good players block that with ease. Its too slow for a normal move and people shouldn’t feel as comfortable just standing in right front of Bison pressing buttons. Cammy’s gay spiral arrow comes out way faster and hits twice. Plus I want to be able to punish whiffed sweeps and shit with it more easily.

DR needs a boost. Its use is so fucking limited. Let Bison fly behind people and cross up, less recovery, and maybe even armor break (rog has like 20 armor break specials and theyre all better than bison’s). It might sound like a lot but that move is so bad as it is now. People should actually have to care every now and then whether its a hs or DR coming. I’d love it if they at least got rid of the startup sound for both dr and hs.

I love that the shoto helicopter out might be taken away. I’ve thought about trying gief as an alt before but I knew that shit would just irritate me so much.

Yes that shit is dumb. Either nerf the boxes or just add about 5 more frames of landing recovery if you whiff an air throw.

It already had bitchy recovery and wasn’t the most reliable on earth, so why?

It could be worse . . could be cammy or seth . . 50/50 ultra set-ups were kind of cheesy, the recovery increase would negate the payoff. I usually crouch buffered Ultra 2 against fireballs anyway. And I find the b,f,b,f motion faster than quarter circles (oh please let it be back forward back forward :frowning: ).

Don’t get me wrong though, it’s miserable that all they can seem to do is make everyone shittier.

The Seth one, I was actually happy with. Less Dhal-Seths we have the better.

I’m starting to get a tiny bit more pissed off actually. It doesn’t seem right for our only viable options to advance on a fireballer be focusing (for an ultra we’ll never use) or jump (floaty death). It seems like every character either has a reasonable interesting way to engage with the fireball game or avoid/punish it. The best option now is, sit on ass to threaten ultra and slide around?

well, none of these changes is definitive, there’s no way Capcom overlooks the fact that the way it is (charge move+slow startup) PP is very unreliable as a fireball punisher (which is why PP was made in the first place).

Call me a masochist, but I always thought PP needed a nerf of some sort (there is too much situations were you can just randomly mash it and get away with it). But that does not imply making it COMPLETELY USELESS. More recovery is OK though.

I mained Bison in Vanilla and he was a good enough character to use back then. It’s not like Bison is going to be less than good if Capcom decides to stick with this change.

Besides, you will have it nice against Ryu’s and Ken’s since they can’t escape from corners via air-tatsu. Nerfing Guile and Honda probably means that Bison’s worst matchup in SSF4:AE is probably against Chun-Li and that’s not too difficult now is it?

I dunno, I quite liked Vanilla Bison. Only qualm I had of himback then was the extremely annoying spacing to make EX PC go through fireballs. Which it now does.

Might be convinced to go back to Nightmare Booster XD I miss yelling “THIS PLACE SHALL BECOME YOUR GRAVEEEEEE!”

Vanilla Bison sucked. He didn’t seem overall that bad but he just couldn’t win tournaments. If you go by the number of successful players maining him in japan you could as well count him as low tier.
Fortunately, even without U2 SSF4 Bipson is better than vanilla Bipson…

As far as Guile is concerned, I don’t think a damage nerf is going to help too much in this matchup. His sonic booms still control a vast amount of space and his AAs and air grab a create a wall very strenuous to get past. To an extent I do feel Guile needed a damage nerf, he does do a moderate amount of damage in two or three hits, but I’m not sure how it will work out for him in the long run. After all he is a turtle, and he can’t really do the best job of pursuing his prey. I feel his high damage is justified for him not having too many combos and relying more so on pokes and anti airs. I just think his whiffed air grabs needs more recovery frames upon landing to really make him think twice about just throwing out that amazing air grab (150 damage WTF) recklessly.

I don’t know what quite to make of his sonic booms not building meter if they don’t hit, either way it’ still a pain in the ass to deal with. I guess I’m glad he won’t build the meter to FADC flash kicks when we finally do get in his face. But again this will screw him over in fireball wars.

It takes a long thought process to make changes to the game and not skew things one way or another all around. I don’t care how long they take to release the “balanced out” arcade version, so long as they do a fair job, which again depends on who you ask.

Ugh… making the u2 a charge is just… unintuitive. This makes U2 damn near useless

I personally didn’t think Bison needed any real buffs but I don’t understand the recovery nerf. I can deal with that though.
