Pinball Wizard is still going really strong. We just aren’t currently running tournaments at the moment there. It started with the Tuesday night fights, then once a fee was introduced we saw the player base dwindle to nothing. It coincided with the end of summer so I am assuming some of that had to do with school. Regardless we are on hiatus and instead I will be doing crack sessions and get togethers etc through out the winter, while Souper Bowl and GU hold it down like normal for the masses. We will be revisiting PWA for tournaments as early as January though so there’ll be more in store for the New Year.
Have any details about future events in Dec? I have a vacation the second week of Dec, then the family will be traveling south for a month.
I know about the comp down in MA. I go down there every month to play at the Souper Bowl. I’m just really fucking salty that on my good day I had to run into Yun.
I would hope that your “good” days happen enough where it isn’t a big deal. Regardless 2012 will heal all that ails the AE nation;).
UMvC3 is amazing. Just needed to say that.
UMvC3 is meh to me right now. I was hoping it would it would bring me back into the game, but I just don’t care for it.

You are right, Ultimate is extremely amazing. Im still working out some teams right now but loving every second of it. I tried playing Street Fighter last night and realized how fucking awful that game is online. Then i went right back to Ultimate,…game is dope. My most favorite new character in the game so far is Iron Fist. Figuring out alot of his rekka shit, hes got like 12 different rekka motions lol and one of the best assists in the game in my opinion. Im ready to get the fuck out of work and go home and continue experimenting.
Dustin I think youd like the game alot more if you actually sat down and spent the time figuring out what assists work with which teams, and really just trying to discover a team that works for you. Gotta have more game plans then the one standard L, M, H, S, M, M H S in mid air. Its going to restrict the game for you. Gotta look for that creativity man.
Kinda am now. Working on Nova a look more with Frank West and Dr. Doom. Another thing I hate about the game is being random out. I fucking HATE it. I know I’m a better player than that.
I know exactly where your coming from dude…losing to dantes who just jump and do special in the air, constantly over and over, manage to hit me everytime…then they go into guns launcher, then the same basic scrubby Dante combos I always see. Its discouraging to lose to shit like that I agree.
Ive tend to stick with what I know, but also find that one missing link to what causes me to lose, ive determined that to be Magneto. I can only do his most basic shit which is really the only thing that works now for him. Ive swapped out Magneto for Iron Fist. Hes a ground character, dont have to worry about dropping air combos, has a decent amount of health and can do a shit ton of damage.
So running Wesker, Akuma, Iron Fist has been working really well for me recently.
OoooOooOh, what happen to Vergil? 
I like Vergil, but hes slowly becoming the Dante of ultimate where alot of his shit is is very dependent on his teleport being done right and what not. Other than the fact that hes one of the most used characters, I prefer the underdog. Wesker unfortunatley is just my favorite RE character so I cant drop him, no matter how much hes used or over powered he is, basically like Akuma…which speaks for its self.
Captain America’s buffs are glorious. He’s currently my anchor, with Frank West and Ghost Rider taking the first and second slots, respectively. Might change out Ghost for someone else, though, but I’m not too sure who. Until then, that’s my primary team.
It’s looking like i’m going to stay with my day 1 team of Nemesis/Ghost Rider/Doom, much like I stuck with my original team in vanilla.
So who else is going to Fighter’s Den tomorrow? I got Charlie and Billy coming along with me for the night. I’m going to grind it out on SSF4 all night.
Well my most recent update:
Last night I did alot of experimenting with a few others from the new cast. This includes even the characters I cant stand. Frank west,…I see so much of him and now I know why. His shopping cart assist is a bunch of bullshit . = ) Tried out some Hawk Eye who I think is an amazing zoning character, unbelievable how good he is at keeping people away. When the game was being shown when it wasnt released, I was all about Firebrand . Last night I gave him a try for the first time. Hes pretty friggen awesome, his projectiles are ass, but his mobility is great and simple to use. His combo potential is whats selling me on him. He doesnt quite work to well assist wise with Wesker and Akuma but im slowly making adjustments by swapping out the assists I use for those 2 characters. Last night I was able to pull a 17 win streak in ranked with the team of Wesker, Akuma, Firebrand. Still seeing what the other characters have to offer, Iron Fist is still in the running but Firebrand right now is feeling pretty solid. Josh’s team of Ghost Rider, Nemesis, and Doom pose a huge problem of getting in. Ghost Riders normals are just to damn good, they have way to much priority and will basically knock you out of anything your trying to do. So basically I keep that in mind when trying to figure out what I need to do to get in on him. If any of you guys wanna run some sets please let me know, I would like to keep running a few teams that ive created to see what works and what doesn’t.
Also got a new team involving Strider, but you will have to wait =)
New team: Magneto, Firebrand, and Cap. America.
Does that team work well together? Im really familiar with Firebrands assists and I think they are all awful, his swoop is decent but really have no combo potential at all. I play alot of magneto as well but I basically dropped him all together, they slowed him down way to much and triangle jumping with him blows now so getting in is a little tougher. Captain America? I honestly couldnt say anything about him, one of the characters that Ive never laid a finger on, he doesnt appeal to me : (. I have picked up Dante just recently, learning alot of his shit, and I must say the better I get with him, the more I love him. Quick, more tools than needed,…just ass for health.
EDIT: Holy shit after watching a few videos of IFC Yipes’s Dante, I realized a huge problem with my Dante that im doing. Since his -> H is unsafe, thats why Dante is able to cancel his combos with his S+attack. Pops him up in the air, then you can air dash and come back down with a H…now im dying to get out of work and try this shit out. The pressure I can put on someone with that shit and Akuma’s assist could be deadly. LETS GO 5 OCLOCK!!!
