Yeah I get that feeling too… I didn’t help out at PortCon this year because I had work, but I’ve always worked in the VG room on staff for the 4 years prior. You know what? Here’s my FB http://www.facebook.com/people/Peter-Robert-Williamson-Robishaw/618712435
oh hey i know that guy
hahaha Mr. Peter Robishaw, I thought you name looked familiar. You still in the Falmouth area?
Oh wow, that’s funny lol. How are ya Dazwa?
Hey Chuck! I’m not in Falmouth anymore though my folks still are. I moved last summer to South Portland. I’m about 1 minute away from SMCC and right on the Cape/SoPo line. It’s a good place! You should come by some night when I set something up.
Sunday, let’s do it guys. I don’t know if THE DREADLORD still views this thread on a regular basis so I’ll let him know.
Been meaning to make the drive up to get some games in with my northern brothers and have an open Sunday this week. If the proposed gathering this weekend isn’t open to the public that’s perfectly cool too, just let me know=). If it is, would love to get some games in with you guys, and may have 2 other NH players that can come as well with another setup if there’s room. Like the spirit you guys have to keep things going in your area, great to see. Thanks for (hopefully) pardoning my intrusion haha.
I’ll edit this post in a few hours, after I consult my roomate and figure out a new furniture arrangement that will allow for more setups, but NewBlood by all means come on up! I won’t turn anyone away, but be warned that my apartment is rather small, and it gets cramped when we have had around ten or so people, so if you aren’t into gaming in hot, sweaty and confined spaces, you may want to reconsider lol.
But I am all for getting as many people as we can over for Sunday night. I was thinking about getting it going at the usual time, which is around 7pm, but with so many people showing interest, I would say show up anytime in the late afternoon. 5pm- until late, if I had to come up with hours for it. And as for setups, I have 3 tvs, one is a 42" plasma, and two crts. I only have one xbox, and two sticks (a TE s and a SE with full seimitsu), so if anyone who is planning on coming is also going to bring some gear, post up so we don’t have too few or too many systems/tvs. I think one or two more TVs will be plenty, and then of course systems, sticks and games to go with them is crucial.
I can bring my xbox and TE
I can bring a LCD monitor and xbox + copies of games.
Then I can bring my TE, 360, Blazblue:CS2 and Mahvel. My friend is bringing his TE as well.
Excellent appreciate the hospitality Matt! From the carribean so unless the equator runs through your apartment i’ll be fine:D. It’s looking like people are supplying tv’s and stuff so i’ll bring my TE, PS3 w/ Arcana on it for those interested. Not sure if you guys drink or anything, but I don’t like coming empty handed so let me know if a case of Soda or beer works for you guys. Looking forward to testing my Gouken on some new matchups in AE, my buddy runs Gief and Hawk in case these are matchups you guys are currently lacking in your circle. See you Sunday!
Wouldn’t mind seeing your friend’s T.Hawk in action, I tried to make him work when Super first came out, but with no success. I’m usually a grappler player, but ended up maining Rufus in AE for various reasons.
oh wow, glad i read this now. i get out of work at 5 on sunday and it would be neat to swing by and play some actual people again! are you still at the same spot?
edit: I would be down for MvC3 & BB on top of AE, but i havent played either for ages and i was never particularly good at them. expect some OCVs on your end, ill be mashing burst if you need anything
Not a bad switch hehe. Grapplers give me a case of the “mindfuck,” so the less there are the better =p. JK, I was always surprised by the lack of T Hawk action. Some of those matchups are really ugly for him, but his normals are outstanding imo, that dmg, and spire (although normally used incorrectly) make him pretty good.
Well I have no idea how to get there hahaha. My friend and I have been wanting to try out Arcana Heart though so we’re looking forward to that.
Ok, so I suppose an address may be helpful for the new folk, eh? My address is 240 Harvard Street, Portland, ME 04103. I live in an apartment complex called The Woodwinds, and my building is number 4. There is a large visitor parking lot out behind building 4, and my number is 409, in the basement.

For those travelling from the south, you will most likely be taking I95, in which case you will want to get off at Exit 53, taking a right heading towards Portland. This road is Washington Ave, which Harvard Street is off of. Keep driving for a mile or two, staying straight through the various lights and intersections. Some landmarks are a Shaws on your left, and a little further down at a big 4-way intersection is a Dunkin Donuts on your right. Harvard Street will be less than a mile from there on your right. The Woodwinds is going to be the first road on your right; its unmarked so keep an eye out for it. Take a right around the circle until you get to a right turn with a visitor parking sign out front, and the building to the left of that right turn is my building, #4.
Also, please feel free to bring any food or type of beverage you desire. Plenty of room in the fridge for it, and I am too poor to provide any thing lol.
If we have a CVS 2 set up with decent sticks that’d be awesome.
That probably shouldnt be a problem if we can come up with at least one more decent ps2 stick and a copy of the game…I still have in my posession dreadlords hori ps2 stick, which is comparable to those ex fight sticks by hori for the 360. not mayflash quality, but not even SE quality either.
I really need to finish (or start, lol) my ps2 stick project one of these days…
