but…the last GG tourny i was at had a 32+ turnout for XX on a SHITTY cabinet. the NEXT DAY, there was a 9 person turnout for a #r tourny.
XX sucks. and the directors dont realize that it IS a completely different game. its like cvs to cvs pro…prolly worse than that…more like hyper fighting to super turbo.
the thing is…the only ppl that can see the difference are the ppl that matter in that game. sit your avg XX scrub in front of a #r machine and he wont be able to tell (unless he plays faust or eddie) i cant tell if thats a good thing or a bad thing (scrubs cant tell and play it anyway, or scrubs cant tell and are scared of it)
so…ill hold a #r tourny in my hotel room…or some hotel room. i know a LOT of ppl did this with marvel last year…so that should take care of it. same thing as evo, same rules, same entry, just off campus. should work out.
fuck that, make #R offical at evo. XX will have a shittier competition curve if you don’t. Only the gg players that are serious switch to #R and this will make the overall turnout have more serious players.
Well, first, the entry price was much steeper, and it was at a much worse time. It was obviously for the seroius players, and perhaps everyone didn’t think that they are in that crowd. If it was #R for evo, america might just get the kick start we need.
Somehow I doubt that, unless they release it for some American console. Otherwise, only serious players will bother to import the game for the PS2, and it’s hard to build a serious community off of that.
Better to build a smaller community of seroius players or a larger community of scrubs? Honestly, im still not sure to this day. I mean, there have been countless arguments on how evo won’t mean much for mvc2 because its on console, it will mean even less for all those seroius players who have been playing #R. (such as ID, CB, all those who wanted to make Team USA, and Team seroius on EC). But, i suppose, just as evo has moved to console to support more than just the top players coming, i can accept it moving to XX to support those who are less enthused about the guilty gear series.
Honestly im not sure how many games are release for the 3 people who own an xbox in japan. If i were to guess, xbox is the venue that #R will eventually be released in america.
well i haven’t heard anything about a release of #r and even if they did announce it tomorrow, i think the release date wouldn’t be in time for evo anyway… my vote stays with XX
and yes i would rather a 128 man GGXX tourney over a 32 #r tourney… and yes those are kinda random numbers ^^; I’ve really got nothing against #r at all, and I’m sure I’ll prefer it over XX when I start to seriously play it (this afternoon I’ll play it seriously for the first time)

Very true, although thankfully Sammy/Arc system is typically more punctual about a release date than Blizzard. Any new if it’s the x-box live version or the ps2 version, or both?
Blizzard is stupid when it comes to releasing games on time.
Lets see, WC3 was like 4 years late, D2 patch 1.10 was 18 months late, WC3FT was 6 months late, WC3FT important patch was 6 months late, and I highly assume that Starcraft:Ghost and World of Warcraft wont be out for at least 2 more years, as for Starcraft2, my grandchildren will be playing it.

Basically the only real reason not to swich is because theres not an american release anytime soon, and everyone cant afford to mod ps2s and/or import the game, so the player base IMO would still be smaller, thats why the only reason that matters is where and when a US #R release will be, now im not attacking your POST destin but that could be said for anything
