Actually as far as I know Sammy only brought “real” sequels to USA… and not the improved versions.

This is why we don’t see GGX+ or GGX 1.5 around here.

Having just read that the Evolution 2K4 tournament might play Guilty Gear XX and not the Reload version deeply hurts my regard to the the United States’ tournaments.
Evolution2k are supposed to be the grandest on this side of the pacific and that would mean using the newest version of games, right?
Even though I won’t be participating in the tournament itself, I still voted because I will be buying the dvd and with that I hope to see some Reload being played and not the oudated XX.

And for crying out loud! Even in Holland we play our tournaments using Reload. And nothing pirated/copied/whatever.

I’m not outdated, if anything, it’s the US.

it’s not like it’s our fault though, the game was never released for US console and there are barely ANY #reload arcade machines if any at all

I really don’t know anything what Reload and what XX are. Can someone explain it to me plz. I’m kind of interest it, in playing the game. :slight_smile: . Also, what do u guys mean the #R is not out yet? I see the game is being sold in stores, same with XX too. So, what’s the problem?

The us is outdated, and i think there are only 3 machines in the US. But that is changing with time, when people go reload, they don’t look back. Its only a matter of time, maybe the 3v3 tourney will be so cool that everyone will switch.

i was just reading this and here are my puny unimportant thoughts:

XX:
the case for:

  • its all the US has got unless you got cash to burn
  • most US arcade versions of the game are XX
    the case against:
  • its balance is ok, but its been replaced by . . .

#R:
the case for:

  • everyone in japan plays it
  • better balance
  • robo-ky, the walking comedy goldmine
    the case against:
  • no official word (apparently) on it EVER being released in the states
  • gimme money to mod my ps2 and import a copy

so the basic problem is: availability vs staying-up-to-date

I would have to say definitely #R. If any of the Japanese players are coming at all, #R is the only choice.

The arguement over the populartiy of #R and XX in the US was thoroughly discussed already so I should not add anything else :confused:
