I honestly cried watching the trailer not going to lie. I’m a huge pokemon fan and I’m so damn excited for it.
Wow…! 6 Generations, huh? I’ve barely touched the fifth generation but I down with this one too. Hopefully, things will balanced enough to make every (or most) Pokémon viable somehow (then again that’s wishful thinking).
I hope Flareon gets the buffs it deserves… it’s been many generations now!! Stealth Rocks was nearly the basis behind many strategies in the fourth gen and recurred in the fifth as well. It’s pretty crazy and funny at the same time. Let’s just see how this turns out. I’m expecting a lot of good things here.

Personally hoping the Grass starter becomes Grass/Fighting or Grass/Steel, the Fire becomes Fire/Water, and the Water becomes Water/Fighting because fuck it we need more of those.
I agree with some retooling of weaknesses and strengths. The days of Ice Beam being so fucking awesome it requires Ice’s defenses to be abysmal have passed.
Also hoping Pichu’s base stats climb to useable, fully-evolved ranks, he becomes Electric/Fighting, and he gets a unique move called Frost Shock FUCK YOU I’M SERIOUS.
I’m hoping for the theory I mentioned earlier. Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, Water/Fighting. All three are relatively rare typings (I think only a couple of each max) and would make the trio very nuanced. Fire loses to Water but Psychic thrashes Fighting. Fire torches Grass but Psychic can’t do shit to Dark. Grass cuts through Water but Fighting beats down on Dark. That’s Nuance right there…which honestly is far beyond GameFreak’s ability to actually be smart.

There is only one question that needs to be asked here.
Yeah, but I’m just wondering if a new number has been revealed. How many new Pokemon generally come out per generation? I stopped when they got to 250. I never got to play against anyone else and it just kinda got stupid playing as a one player game… loved the fuck out of Scizor though. He was my favorite by FAR.
I like when they added flare blitz and it was like “woah a move that could possibly make flareon vaguely usable” and then it didn’t get it.
But yeah there are a bunch of outliers now that probably need to be brought in line. It used to be all dragons were quad weak to ice just because of typing, and ice shard existed, stuff like that is what I’m talking about. Yeah dragon is an awesome type, but it’s mostly been balanced with most of them being weak to rocks and and quad weak to ice(obviously less true as of gen 5). I think stuff like that is a much more interesting(Albeit difficult) way to balance than “throw more weaknesses and resistors” at the type.
edit: I will never claim game freak is GOOD at balancing but I do think they pretty clearly take the amount of resistance/weaknesses a type grants when making it’s moves and making MOST of it’s pokemon. There’s a reason dragon type doesn’t have very many moves and it has no generic strong damage 100% accuracy no drawback move etc…
OMG! i loved the fuckin’ fire starter, this Gen looks cooler than Gen 5 for me, i mean i really disliked a lot of the pokemon in Gen 5, there were cool ones i am not gonna lie , but a lot of them were so ugly, it was the only generation that i did not buy a pokemon game, but after seeing the trailer i am very excited about this one, the only thing is that i miss that the names were colors or precious metals…
So I’m buying a 3DS , those damn pokemon games are system sellers exactly like SFxT on vita.
Usually 100 or 150 per new generation. As mentioned earlier, it can easily reach 800 if they introduce 150 new ones this gen.
