Oh yeah Extrasenory is a godsend, but I hate some of the more bulker fighting types like Hariyama surviving and hitting back full force. The AI in this game has been fine tuned and is a bit smarter than the previous gens. I ran chip away w/Snorlax for a while until he started liking me enough for full-blown return STABs. Scald is an excellent move but it conflicts with having Surf with more base power and crossing rivers/oceans for more accessibility.
True dat. I still dunno though, maybe specially defensive Lugia can laugh at it a couple of rounds or Yveltal lands a critical ignoring special defense boost. He needs sucker punch or the Deoxys attack forms may revenge kill him. Might be able to one shot Mewtwo, so I’d consider that pretty huge.
Pretty much. He still gets hit hard if we are talking theory pokemon, but he can cripple with Twave and begin to utilize his setup. Whether or not it holds is the key, that’s why Slack Off makes a great recovery tool for him.
Slowking does get Nasty Plot, probably the most noticeable difference from Slowbro overall. The special defense boost would be good if he wasn’t weak to electric/grass attacks.
Those are just the crazy japanese players. Before I got a ditto safari I put Growlithe in the GTS for Dittos and usually got Japanese ones, so if you have access to a safari with pokemon that you can only get in a friend safari, put those on the GTS for Dittos (level 21-30). If it’s still like it was last week they’ll be tossing Dittos in your direction with how fast they trade for some pokemon.
I think there might be a few grass types you could use to take advantage of the sun as well (STAB 1 turn Solarbeams can hit pretty hard, plus the grass types with the Chlorophyll ability). Would help to give you a bit better type coverage as well.
Also, just found out that the Lucario I was given in-game apparently has perfect Speed IVs. If I breed it with Ditto and have Lucario hold the Destiny Knot, which IVs are passed down to the child? Is it just the best IVs that the parent holding the Destiny Knot has?
Some Grass types to shuffle in every now and then don’t sound too bad… The only condition is, I need to be able to nickname them something Naruto-related, as that’s the theme. :bgrin:
Venusaur is a given, but how are Leafeon and Bellosom? Too bad Trevenant doesn’t get Chlorophyll… That would’ve been Hashirama lol
Edit: Wait… Harvest works 100% of the time in the sun.
Destiny Knot passes down 5 random IVs from both parents, so there’s no guarantee that the Speed IV will be passed. It doesn’t matter who’s holding it, though.
Yea, I know I want to make a Sun team out of what I have. Those are the fire types I want to use, but I’m looking for advice as to what should go on a Sun team.
Would Leafeon fill that role well? I know it has pretty good Attack…
Venusaur, Sawsbuck, Victreebel, and Exeggcutor are good Cholorophyll abusers, and they give you overall better synergy simply by being added to your team. Leafeon just has crappy movepool. A spinner would also help tremendously, and I’d recommend Donphan since it works best for sun teams (even if it can’t get Stealth Rock just yet).
Personally, I think sun and rain teams are better off manually setting up Sunny Day/Rain Dance with the rocks since auto-weather isn’t permanent anymore, which was the only reason you bothered using Ninetales and Politoed to begin with, as they’re terrible Pokemon otherwise.
