And that’s exactly my point. By continually adding on more pkmn they just make more of a mess. We can restart (I hate the word reboot) the franchise without having to toss out everything. Just remix all stats, and yes we could bring back old locales but change what is found and add more freedom. Like as I have envisioned before:
After choosing your pkmn, you choose your starting town and region (Kanto, Johto, etc) and begin your normal journey by choosing any gym you want and all pkmn around you will slowly grow in power in certain areas depending on which route you take. also choosing different gyms will affect which story events will occur and/or never happen making a more personal experience. This will affect who is your rival as well. Once you beat all gyms in the region, you fight one member of the Elite 4 to gain region champ for that area which allows you to enter a new region and either start fresh with a new starter pkmn from that new region OR continue with your current team and keep progressing.
Once all regions are done only then can you fight the E4 and your rival. Of course only after completing all gyms regions and the E4+ rival may you get a shot at meeting pkmn Trainer Red. Online will be available at all time where you can choose to accept battles anytime between randoms/friends/or turn it off to focus on your training.
…That pretty much sounds like it has to be a console game. No way they’re fitting all of that on a 3DS and I doubt Gamefreak has any desire to really branch out onto console.
Yeah I forgot to mention this is what I dream of for my Wii/Wii U/whatever nintendo’s next console would be. I think we all have had enough of the pointless format that is the stadium/coliseum/area whatever BS that could be SO much more.
The problem is that pretty much everyone has a dream scenario where Pokemon finally gets a correct entry on consoles where we get all regions and get so much exploration and such…but it isn’t going to happen. I just don’t see them doing so outside of Pokemon actually getting an endgame scenario where they just can’t make any more things and then they do something like that for an anniversary maybe. But even then I doubt Game Freak wants to bother putting that much effort into it when they make so much money by doing very little.
which is every company now…low risk high reward hence why many games and in particular pkmn are getting stale…I like to believe that an abitious game like the one I dreamed of is a trump card of theirs to make should things go bad financially.
Man i really think they should make an Online RPG of Pokemon already. The thought of wild pokemon going around just like how wild monsters are in online RPG’s sounds cool. With additional friends to tag along or something…
