I know, right? I typically go with the Fire starter but ever since Treecko won my heart in Gen 3, I’ve looked to the other starters on occasion. Gen 4, Piplup was a boss, and now we have Chesspin and Fennekin… You know Chesspin’s headdress is going to get more awesome when it evolves, and Fennekin is a freakin’ firefox!
It just better not evolve into another damned Fire/Fighting type, or I’m flipping tables.
Dragon isn’t a big deal because they usually get destroyed by ice, and I get the typing storywise, but you can’t deny how the best dragons usually just dominate whatever metagame they are in. One more weakness won’t ruin them.
See, I’ve always been a big Pokemon fan. Probably my favorite game series ever. It’s just that I’m worried that they aren’t going to make a good product. It seems like it’s taking the COD route (releasing some rushed crap every year). I hope, I really hope that I am wrong, but that’s how it seems to me. They can’t make a good game if it is being rushed.
Am I the only one who has doubts? They just announced a new Gen and expect to complete it in a year, with new Pokemon, moves, abilities, and stuff and expect it to be good. BW2 was just released. One year isn’t enough time to create a good Pokemon game. I hope that there will be delays or something. There is just no way that the game can be made in one year. This is going to be the most ambitious Pokemon game yet. They are putting 3D models and a 3D world into a handheld, something never done before, adding the required new moves, abilities, Pokemon, etc in one year. It is impossible to say the least. There is just no way that it can be even better than the previous games with so much new stuff in so little time. They may be able to pack all of the new things in, but it can’t be as good of a product. There is just no way. Either it’ll be the black sheep of the Pokemon series, a complete mess, or I am proven wrong and it is amazing. I seriously hope it’s the last one but I doubt it.
Why are you so worried, they made all the 3d models for the pokedex, and they were probably making the game when like 3 people were just reskinning B and W 2.
The way the Japanese work is like slave labor… don’t underestimate them(as bad as it sounds, I don’t want them working like slaves, but they value work too much)…
Speaking of types, how many fighting pokemon are there now? I haven’t played since Gold/Silver when I was huge into the games, yet iirc fighting only had about 9 or so pokemon
You know, now that you metion it…you’re right. They put a ton of Fighting types in Black and White. And there were four Fighting Type Legendaries…geez.
Yeah, every team has at least one Fighting type on it now… Tyranitar was PISSING is rock-skinned pants this gen.
It looks like the theme of these new games is going to be back to nature… Hopefully that means we can get some Grass types that don’t suck. I’m feeling that itch again… there are few things in gaming that I get truly hype for outside of fighters, but Pokemon is one of them. I’m not worried at all about these new games.
Say what you will about Nintendo’s business practices, one thing they do better than everyone else is development. They ain’t pulling a DmC here…
Yeah because psychic is useless unless you’re the goddamn juggernaut like Reuniclus is… but out of control is an exaggeration if you have a Reuniclus, not so much if you don’t…
But then if they were working on 2 at once, then Gen 5 should never have existed, and isn’t as good of a game as they could have made. I just hope that it’s good.
I completely skipped over Gen 5 though. I just sent my DS to be repaired (It’s been broken for years and never had a reason to fix it until BW2) and now the next game is on 3DS. I at least assumed that one more DS Pokemon game would be released…
I just think that since Nintendo does the same thing with Legend of Zelda. For example, while Twilight Princess was still being developed they were working on Skyward Sword as well. Granted, there is a big difference between Legend of Zelda and Pokemon, but I still think that they’ve been taking their time with this one. I could be wrong, but I’m just trying to remain optimistic.
I wonder what this generation’s region is going to based on? The first 4 were based on Japan, Gen 5 was based on the US (I think New York specifically, if I remember correctly)…not a huge deal but I’m just curious. Way too early to say at this point I’m thinking.
