Pokemon X and Y: Aftermath (GEN 6 Discussion, Tier Talk, Breeding, Meganite)

Ninetales has Drought. That nigga ain’t goin’ nowhere anytime soon…

I really hope that Fennekin evolves to Fire/Psychic, though. Would love to see an alternate triangle of Psychic/Dark/Fighting for the starters this time.

I’m also really intrigued by the new legendaries, Xerneas and Yveltal… They look really cool to me.
I hope they have interesting Abilities and Typing.

I really like the starters this time around.

Not the legendaries though, look kinda overdone and strange, but I guess I’ll wait to see in game models.

It’s crazy to think about the sheer amount of model work and animation they need to make for this game, over 700 pokemon now, wow.

Oh. Well in that case…

Spoiler

Ninetales will go away if Sun is no longer viable.

Alternatively, it’ll go away if there’s a better Drought-user introduced in Gen 6.

Calling Fennekin final evo to have Drought.

EDIT: By revamped, I mean they’re still BASED off the Gen 1 cries, but not as deliberately 8-bit.

  • Game Releases *

  • Both Legendaries are pure Dragon or Dragon and some random type *

  • le sigh *

Seriously though, as much as I love most Dragon-types, and as good as they are, I hope they don’t randomly give these two dragon types. Give me something really off the wall like… Ghost/Steel or something. :razzy:

Oh word? Nice.

As an aside, I actually like that they’ve kept those original cries thus far. As “out-of-date” as they may sound compared to the newer sounds, they hold a certain nostalgia for me when I play.

Articuno, Charizard and Beedrill cries still warm the ol’ heart.

EDIT (Sorry, I’m way behind lol)

Okay yeah, add me to the list of people that… was really disappointed when Dragonair evolved. Still am. I used to keep Dragonairs on deck and never evolved them way back when just because of that… design.

That said, Salamence is boss. Of the traditional dragons it’s still my favorite.

I’m all about Flygon though, being all fascinated with bug-types and all.

relevant to the Dragonair/Dragonite discussion in the thread

Edit - fixed

Why does the main character of the game remind me of Egoraptor?
Now all he needs is a rival with a neckbeard that uses bird Pokémon.

Articuno’s cry is my favorite to this day. Like a mini-aria.

He has a small movepool but he’s pretty good with what he has. Spikes and Bug Buzz are a must. He’s a beast in RU.

it might just be me but those name’s sound terrible

a majority of the new gen name’s sound like your putting a password in for a snes game

Like Water needs replacement moves. If anything Water needs a nerf.

People claim Dragon is overpowered, but Water types truly run the show. They can fully cover their 2 semi-common weaknesses, are great offensively, and usually have decent stat spreads.

So this time the Legendary Pokemon are based on creatures from Norse mythology. Kinda cool, actually.

Fix sleep turns resetting on switch, the bullshit explosion nerf and do something about drizzletoed/droughtails and I’ll be the first throwing money at the screen.

Huh, didn’t know all that. I just thought the X legendary reminded me of a forest god from Princess Mononoke (and based off all the previous deer related pokemon some designer really liked them) and the flying one was just meant to look really cool.

So my cousin pointed something out: if, as the videos are showing, the starters are leaning towards being Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic, and Water/Fighting, isn’t that kinda unfair for the Fire/Psychic one given Dark nullifies Psychic? Then again there was that Grass/Ground starter…

Fire still beats Grass, though.

Fire>Grass>Water>Fire…
Psychic>Fighting>Dark>Psychic…

They’re still perfectly balanced.

More than likely they’re all going to have the basic Starter abilities in Blaze, Overgrow, and Torrent.

It still matters where their stats are placed, if the offenses and defenses are mismatched typing might not really matter.

'Bout time the 3DS got a proper Pokemon game…

Yea, that’s true.

Btw, Grass/Dark has a 4x Weakness to Bug-type moves… It’ll be the only one of the 3 with that kind of weakness, most likely making it the least viable by default.
