Thats cute. I have 67 pidgey candies and 22 pidgeys in my pokemon box right now, lol. They’re the best way to level, since they only take 12 candies, and with a lucky egg is 1k per evolution. Im trying to save up for over 100 before I pop em :tup:

Seriously, if you plan to play its a huge battery killer, invest in an external charger. I bought the Anker E5 but Im sure theres better ones now, it charges my phone like 4 times over on the go. They’re a life saver, ESPECIALLY when they start doing the special events.

Anyhow, the fastest way to level up is to evolve pidgeys/caterpies/weedles. For some reason caterpies and weedles are fucking rare where I live, go figure. But the key is, they only take 12 candies to evolve, unlike others which take 25 to 50 candies. So, the idea is, you horde up as many of these cheap evolving fodder as you can, and save them. Then, you use a lucky egg; you get one at like level 9 and 10 I think.
So, Im about to hit 11 (been lagging it). I have, like I said, 67 candies and 22 pidgeys. 67/12 = 5 evolutions. If I transfer 17 of my 22 pidgeys, I can get 17 more candies and have 84, enough for 7 evolutions. (obviously Im still 2 short because I’d only have 5 left, but you get the idea).
Evolving a pokemon is worth 500 xp. Lucky eggs double your XP gained for 30 minutes, so thats 1k xp per evolution.
7 evolutions = 7k xp.
Levels 11-14 is 10k xp per level. So basically, for every 10 evolutions you can do, thats 1 level. So, if I can save up enough for like 30 evolutions of pidgey, thats enough to jump 3 levels completely.
I think this is regarded as the best leveling method.
It’d be 3 times more effective if I could find caterpies and weedles in my area as well : P
edit: I forgot timing your lucky egg and evolving with hatching as many eggs as possible at the same time, since they’re basically 1k per hatch as well.
Niiiiiicee. Luckly pigbirds, rats, and weedworms are very common where I live and in the areas I walk around. Surpisingly so is Clafairy which should be useful to have.

I did about 4 levels witb 1 lucky egg. And I did not have many pokemon to evolve. It took about 7 minutes to evolve all I had. I have since been saving every evolution I have. I have about 12 random pokemon ready to evolve and about 12 pidgeys to evolve. I’m going to wait til I have about 30 pidgeys. That should also increase my random pokemon to evolve as well. So I can spend the whole 30 minutes evolving.
A tip for you guys that want to do this. Go to an area with 2 or more poke stops with lures that way you can continuously spin them for double exp as well as catch pokemon for double exp that way you can fully use your lucky egg to the max

I fucking LOVE this game. it’s really amazing. After probably 6 months of missing my step-goal on my days off despite telling myself constantly “THIS is the weekend i hit my goal!” I have finally hit my goal every single day last week. Went from dropping down to like 4k on my days off to maintaining that 10k goal every day.
Not only that but the downtown area’s where i work and live are just so filled with people. I even saw a few parent-child combo’s out and about catching pokemon and plenty of elders tossing balls around. it really is wonderful.

yesterday at my job at the mall I was talking with an 8 year old. He told me how he caught some sandshrews and shit. Also told me he took over the gym where everyone that works at the mall has been fighting for lol. Great convo till he told me he was team instinct. Told that kid to scram

Yes, but there are cases where you run into a pokemon with high CP so you can just catch that and then transfer the lower ones to help raise it’s cp. I think the higher your level, the higher your chance of running into high cp pokemon. I noticed the eggs give pokemon with higher cp too.
BTW: Pigeot is slow as fuck. I tried battling in a gym with him and that guy took forever to do a basic attack. Starmie is fast though.
Man, they’ve been doing it a lot. Not only that, but here in NYC there are random restaurants, cafe’s, candy shops etc that are giving free shit to players based of various reasons like level or team.
One of the good things about this game is that it made unknown cafe’s boom because of being poke stops or near pokestops. You get to discover a lot of good shit you never knew was around because of it being a pokestop or just near a pokestop. There was this small food truck around mid town NYC that was going out of business but it’s not anymore because it is parked in front of a pokestop.
