edit; So I had an idea for an app/website. It was going to basically sandbox the Pokemon Go app, and intercept the web traffic sent to the app, decrypt it into plain text, and be able to extract what pokemon were in the area. Then I would set up a farm of these, hopping from location to location, and put out alerts when pokemon you were interested in were near you.
But, turns out the entire end to end package is encrypted with SSL (duh), and in order to even get close to cracking that is probably going to end up reaching levels of hacking that probably are frowned upon by hacking laws, so the idea is likely out. lol. But Im way more versed in how SSL encryptions for websites work at least.

How long till businesses start droping lures to attract more customers? Imagine going to a starbucks and getting s free lure with your purchase of any of the select beverages.
Some of the small businesses in my area are already doing that. There’s a juice bar that is a pokestop and they drop lures all day long to attract business.
Bars here do that a lot at nights.

How do people get their Pokémon to high level? Do these guys just pick a Pokemon and stuff it with whatever to raise its CP? Trying to crush this local gym

Not sure if its been talked about yet, but you can only get credit for 10 gyms at a time when you cash-out. Took out around 15 last night with some friends and we kept thinking that we were losing gyms until we counted from the pokemon list. Also found out the hard way that the eevee trick only works once per type, and Jolteons are usually 100-200cp weaker that the others.
So I have Dratinis at work and Squirtles at home. Guess I’m going for a team spearheaded by Blastoise and Dragonite down the line, then. Which is fine with me, though Cubone and Raticate were always my favorites. Also, do pokémon learn new moves or do I need to choose them based on what they know when I catch them? Speaking of which, how are CP and stuff calculated? Is it like in the original games, where catching a low level pokémon and levelling it up is preferable to catching a high level one? And what about evolutions, are pokémon you’ve evolved yourself more powerful than ones you caught pre-evolved?
so far haven’t seen any difference between caught and evolved/powered-up pokemon. Also movesets seem to be randomly picked whenever you catch or evolve a pokemon, The special moves also seem to be useless unless its really strong and a type opponent is weak to. I’m going to stop evolving the three stage pokemon before I have enough candies to get their final form. It just turns into a waste when you catch a basic mon that has higher cp then the one you just evolved.
These servers are just like SFV.
Its the opposite, spending dust on CP before you’re level 20 (and at the very least 15) is a waste of time.

The Max CP a pokemon can have is based on its breed, and your trainer level. So a pokemon you have at max CP when you’re level 5, will no longer be at max when you level to 6.

The current CP of a pokemon is random, up to the max you could have. Thus, catching pokemon at a higher level will pretty much make them stronger by default.
Factor in that the cost to level a low CP pokemon and a high CP pokemon both use 1 candy, makes it so theres not much point in leveling lower pokemon (other than to save a bit on dust).
Also the best bang for your buck right now is to get an eeve, name is Rainer, evolve it into a Vaporeon, and you’re good to go. It beats out most pokemon that go through 3 evolutions and a hundred candies, for just 25.
