Basically she does what most managers do when they’re promoting their wrestler in entertainment wrestling: promote, hype up, distract, hide, profit.</div>

<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Kinda… IMHO I think that Poison really benefits from having a partner who can confirm off of a tag canceled kiss by a goddess (cough…Nina).  Besides that yeah you are basically right</span></font></div>

Pretty much the whole cast can confirm off KBG as long as it’s the MK version mid screen. But I agree.

<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>The EX version works just like the MK version in this respect, it’s something to remember.</span></font><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”><br></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Her synergy relies on being able to always connect her links into boost combos. Being able to build meter better then others in the cast while having safe® block strings to do so makes her a valuable asset to your team.</span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I’m going to revise the gem thread to basically to work hand&hand with the new default loadouts and maybe do a flowchart for a few of them…not sure if ima go that far since it is very simple. below is just another overview of shit we already know…again…a refresher.</span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Poison’s team Position will ultimately decide on how you play the character and who her partner is. There are alot of variables and some are not too easy to just explain away. However the most common Position is on point because of the meter acquisition and general basic gameplan.  Combined with the C.Gauge gem loadout, you have a battery that works now and later in the round. Poison doesn’t/shouldn’t use alot of C.Gauge, this is a blessing in disguise because it helps with more meter-centric setups or characters in general. Tag Cancel and Pandora setups are limited but again, we all know that damage was never a strong point with this character, being able to adapt to different situations is though. Poison is generally a good character in general to fight against your other characters “bad” match ups in a sense, but Poison herself has bad match up’s.  </span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”> </span></font></div>

If anything, mostly characters who outfootsies her or can keep up with her fireball pace (or outright ignore/beat it). So we’re talking the likes of Law, maybe chun. I overall think she goes fairly even with most of the cast. Your whiff punishing and spacing have to be on point for it though.<div><br></div><div>The things that really hold poison back are “ok” health (aka that female health) and low - minimal damage output. Her launcher and tag cancel combos coming in are lackluster also. But you can at least get meaty setups mid screen along with a hard knockdown midscreen or corner.</div>

<br><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Vega for sure, his claw normals are so good. The only real normal Poison can use to combat them is far st. HP because it can hit couching but its still not a very good look. Vega also covers angles that is hard for Poison to hit when he starts to bounce off the wall, however again Poison has(ok) tools to combat this with cr. HP and a well timed KBG to prevent crossups that are deep. Ironically I find myself using her back flip against him to get out of some of his more annoying setups but that is very situational and shouldn’t be used often as it can be punished. </span></font></div><div><span style=“line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: small;”><br></span></div><div><span style=“line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: small;”>Characters with better Zoning/Anti Zoning tools are effective against her too. Dhalsim, Sagat, and because of the uniqueness Jin’s projectiles give Poison a hard time. Without relying on her EX moves, Poison has to struggle with the minefield of projectiles. Anti Zoning tools like Mist steps are also a pain for Poison because in the early stages of a fight, Poison has no real way to build meter for her team without playing a heavy defensive footsie game or actually going in. This can be suicide against characters like Kazuya who are testing to see how tight your block strings are because all it takes is to land 1 hit and your down 40% health. </span></div><div><span style=“line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: small;”><br></span></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I find Poison to be favorable against Grapplers and some other characters like Cammy because they need to either burn a EX to put themselves in a good position or have to rely on particular setups which Poison can just avoid being in.</span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>The match up Thread was suppose to be made months ago, but ya…no one ever made it and with the lack of character interest, I doubt one will ever be made, unless some truly gamebreaking tech comes into her hands  but ya…Im not going to make it.</span></font></div>

I don’t think Poison has much of a problem against Mist step characters. Outside the corner, you should be right outside sweep distance throwing out HP fireball anyway to punish anyone trying to wave dash through. In the corner, the mixup will be more on CADC and MP fireballs rather than HP frame trap stuff.<div><br></div><div>Also Jin’s projectiles hitbox are extremely misleading. I guess they’re a problem in that they linger out there but outside of that, just let it sit there and wait it out a sec.</div><div><br></div><div>I can make a matchup thread (just so there is one and we can update it as a group forum.) but that also relies on us actually labbing it up to test shit out so we can put it up.</div>

<div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”>I must just have a hard time with Kazuya then because one wrong read, I lose 40% health -_- </div><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”><br></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Jin’s Projectiles if used correctly makes projectile wars with her stupid in a sense, but you can wait them out…but you may lose positioning depending on where Jin is and if he is trying to push you into a corner…im going into theory fighter though…and fudge that.</span></font></div><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”><br></div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I’d contribute but like I said before, this Sub-Thread isn’t as active as others so don’t expect a whole lot of stuff at first. But the game is steadily getting popular again so who knows, I guess they are waiting for people to do the work again. </span></font><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Tomorrow or sometime later im going to revamp the gem threads to fit the current tournament standard gems so I guess look forward to that?<br></span></font><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”><br></div><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”><br></div></div>

No worries with the lack of active people. I don’t rely too much on the forums when it comes to matchup stuff. (and for SFxT at the moment you’re better off either going to said character’s forum you’re having a problem with or just go into training to work with what’s giving you problems)<div><br></div><div>I’ll try to get the matchup thread up sometime this weekend since i’ll be somewhat free to set it up.</div>

What do you guys think of Poison & Bryan?

Poison/Bryan seems like it would work in theory. I dunno if their moves have synergy with each other though.<br><br><br>What do you all think about Poison/Chun? I noticed that I have a very defensive and lame style in this game where I prefer to be in neutral and poking over having poor neutral and a great “in your face” game (aka. Tekken characters). I figure Chun second would be better because she can get more off a tag in than Poison can. I’m also thinking of going all meter gems so I can just spam Alpha Counters all day and be lame lame lame.

I’d switch out poison for sim if you wanted to be true lame. Poison can play the lame game but she gets outclassed by other characters who excel better at it. Especially if you’re trying to play full screen lame.

I think “Mist Step” characters give me the least problems with Poison. Usually what beats my Poison is someone out-laming me. Except Guile, I dunno why. Sim and Vega are the worst IMO. Their buttons are just too good.

St. MP anti-air canceled into Aeolus is nice, and the now faster Cr. HP is godlike.

Edit: Just realized this is “team synergy”. Oops. Ah well, my two cents are pretty much what everyone’s been saying. Poison works best as a battery for the character in back to clean up on. In my case, Ogre.

I’m thinking of trying a Poison/Steve team. Poison builds meter for Steve and gets him in to deal damage, haven’t tried it out yet so I don’t know how much synergy they have in combos, but I think it might be worth a look.
