Not sure if a patch this early was needed for Sackboy.
It’s likely the same scenario they had with Vanilla MvC3 where the patch was already completed but either wasn’t ready in time for day one or was withheld to await community feedback on an aspect of the game that they weren’t 100 percent sure about at release.
sackboy has normal sized super costs?
y’all just need to think about what I just asked.
I think Sir Dan’s level 3 should kill everyone in its radius at the time it ends regardless of how long they’ve been in there for.
I dunno if I trust their balancing (though I like the Sackboy stuff) after seeing what they did to Jak. It is like two different people decided to nerf him without telling each other they did it. So like, one person saw “great utility moves with solid AP into a great lv3? Nerf the utility of the moves so it is harder to build,” while another member said “great utility moves with solid AP? Let’s bring down his AP a lot.”
Because how long it takes to get to the point where anyone can kill anyone (without a confirm) is already too long. Making it longer isn’t really great. Sackboy did need a bit of change based on what’s going on right now, but…yeah.
Is Sly really the broke train people made him out to be at the beginning of the game? He is definitely one of the better characters but I feel it takes a good deal of skill to play him effectively or else sure you are invisible the whole time, but you aren’t getting any points for it. Or maybe it’s just me being terrible at using my brain in his style, though I do not see him as much as Kratos and Sackboy so I dunno?
idk about sly being “broken” he can’t block. but i can’t seem to do anything about that rolling thunder move. i can’t seem to punish it consistently (i main raiden btw), if anybody has an idea or knows how to punish that move i’d be grateful. i’m guessing they made that move be safe since he can’t block.
I’m pretty sure that move is safe. I main Dante myself and have yet to find a punish, or with Evil Cole who I usually play when not Dante.
Sly seems like a good character, yet his “akwardness”, as I call it, makes it difficult for him to contend with the heavy hitters of the game. He has some great moves and some tricky stuff going on, but I’ve yet to see a good reset or set-up for his level 1 (or combo for that matter), his level 2 is pretty bad in anything but 2v2 imo, and his level 3 is awesome but I feel that in most matches outside of ffa it won’t be reliably accessible. This is all based on experience playing my friend, who plays Sly, and me maining Dante. We are by no means authorities on either character, but so far matches tend to devolve into me getting level 1 in 1 or 2 ap bursts, then just baiting out Sly till he makes a mistake and getting a level 1 combo. Though Sly has lots of save moves, it seems difficult for him to capitalize on getting in, as most moves that let him do so knock the opponent away and reset the situation. Sly seems at his best to me when his playing a sort of mid-close range zoning game with careful counters. His level 1 seems pretty good for punishing whiffs, though it should be noted Dante usually suffers from massive lag when whiffing 1 or f.1 on the ground, which is usually what gets me killed.
yea good stuff. i mean 1v1 some characters just outshine others. obviously sly’s invisibility is a big weapon in his arsenal so 2v2 and especially FFA he can utilize it to his advantage more. and maybe he doesn’t have a combo into his lvl 1 for now, but the invisibility helps so he can stay hidden in a 2v2 match and throw it out when he’s invisible as most sly’s do.
New screen shot’s of the DLC characters and a DLC stage.
Aww yeah. Anyone I play now I do so just to kill time until Kat comes out. I love my floaty airborne characters, and I’m pretty darn sure that is what she is going to be.
Looks like Kratos might be eating a nerf stick to the face soon:

My main problem with Sly is that it’s hard to hit him. Even his normal stance can duck under some projectiles. It’s annoying.
Not just some projectiles, there are some moves quite important to some characters that whiff Sly even when comboing, such as the second hit in Heihachi’s F.22. I am sure there are others as well.
I know you have to time Evil Cole combos differently from a st.3, or they whiff completely on some hitboxes, so that makes sense. Right now I can’t hit Fat Princess and Toro unless I time things really specifically, but all the other tiny guys seem okay. I need to test on sly, though. My house doesn’t play him too much.
Sly also dodges Dante’s f.1. I’m not sure if this is a balance issue though, given part of small characters’ abilities is that they’re hard to hit, annoying as it is. It’s supposed to be, I think.
Small hitboxes are small. I just find it odd that it doesn’t always seem to be based on the characters’ actual height, but the height of their sitdown/crumple states.
I used to give kratos the benefit of the doubt, until I learned that his chains have tracking and are not just different chain moves. Wtf at its range, speed, tracking, and AP gain for the stupidest things. I hate to call for nerfs, but those things need a nerf.

I’m curious on how Kratos would be on a competitive level.
Sly is a midget?
…seriously wtf is with me and wanting to play midget characters?
