PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale: Balance discussion and theory

Yeah, except he doesn’t. After you get thrown you have wakeup options, and it’s easy to roll away from his Lv1 super. He does have a guaranteed kill on Lv2 super after a forward throw, but not on Lv1.

I don’t know if he has any way to actually combo into Lv1, possibly yeah, but it’s not as easy as just a throw.

Raiden can combo into his level 1 from jump down triangle, back Squarex2, Counter (Neutral Circle), and jump forward Circle (needs to hit low to the ground). It makes him pretty consistent in all formats except for FFA time limit. He might be the current best 1v1 character.

I’m not sure if they mean the grounded neutral.square or his aerial neutral.square; because Sweet Tooth can connect his Level 1 off of an aerial neutral.square, but only if it hits a grounded opponent. Not sure about the grounded version being able to combo or not.

Granted, this was something I did when I played the beta. If it changed, then I would not know.

Thanks. Not doubting it works just didn’t see how.

I’ve been playing this game for a little while and the cast is heavily unbalanced from what I’ve seen. Although I don’t know if it’s the moves of the characters that are so bad, or the AP gain.

Balance depends on the game mode you’re playing.

As this game progresses, we seem to find more and more. Just found a way to combo into Parappa’s lvl1.

The difference in lvl 1’s and 2’s in the cast is painful.

Atleast give me a way to combo into Jak’s supers. Ugh.

Well Clock did show some stuff on landing his lvl2 as an option for oki.

forward throw, f+1, S1

thats the combo from throw to super 1

Does anyone else feel that Kratos’ level 3 shouldn’t disable other characters’ ability to use supers? It just seems like his level 3 lasts forever in comparison to the rest of the roster and needs some form of drawback.

I’m pretty sure Kratos’ level 3 is the very last level 3 you need to be worried about. Even so, they’re supposed to be brokedumb. Level 3s are made to guarantee at least 1 kill. For most, 2+. Most potent thing in the game, but also the most costly with time and AP.

Worry less about level 3s and more about level 1s/2s.

That said, I’m pretty sure Raiden is top tier just because of this.

Once you’re connecting to battle, if it says “Opponents Found” then disconnects and tries searching again, cancel and retry.

Any one else think the screen zooms out too far? I understand it’s necessary since stages are quite large and in FFA people get spaced out, but even up close the characters seem pretty small, it’s hard to tell what’s happening sometimes, especially when all the characters onscreen get ejected away.

Zoom out is a problem. It a bitch seeing what’s going on when playing on a TV and sitting away from it. I’ve lost track of where I was more often then I would like when I played at a friends house

Where can I find this or could you describe it to me? More importantly is it outside the corner? It is really strong off oki in the corner but the only hard knockdowns I’ve found with Jak (sidethrow and Blaster finish) send the enemy so far away that a backroll easily beats it.

I think it was the first WNF PSASBR stream. Also where are the Parappa players? Wanted to look at some players for an idea of how to appropriately approach characters.

When people tie in FFA, everyone gets to be involved in the overtime. I think it would be better if only the people who tied were in it, so someone who sucked the whole match cannot play spoiler with a random Level 3 in the OT.

I like it. It gives the opportunity for a comeback. I won a few FFAs that way.
