If you play Sweet Tooth I recommend spamming his shotgun, in the air and on the ground. It builds good meter and is fast enough to shut down whatever your opponent is trying to do. f+T and d+T (in the air)
When 2-3 enemies are close together fighting use n.O because you’ll get good meter by hitting multiple foes. It also works decently as a high priority anti-air against jump-ins.
When dropping in on someone throw your mine down (d.+O) when someone gets blown into the air jump up and shotgun them again (f.+T in the air) for very nice meter gain.
Everything else is useless for the most part and will get shutdown by smart players. I hope Tooth gets a slight buff in meter gain so his lvl 3 can be used more.
I tried Parappa, and he is fun. The way he builds meter is crazy. I’ve gotten his LVL2 tons of times to rack up kills. I really only use his LVL3 if I want to clear the screen of Radec. The only thing that really has lose me rounds was if some did they’re lvl1 super during one of my combos. They’d kill me and the dude I combo’d.
i meant to type his level three lol but one thing that annoys me is the fact that sly can’t dodge. i mean i understand him not being able to block (cuz if he could block and be invisible that would be op) but since he can’t dodge it really messes me up alot.
I could see ABC if controls remap, but numeric notation makes more sense in games where diagonals matter and also the 4/6 add another confusion compared to “f.”(forward). Again, like with PS buttons vs ABC, the letters will be easy to get for anyone while the numbers require you to be “in the know”.
And doesn’t smash do letters?
This game isn’t gonna be a international affair because this games characters are from games that mostly popular in america or english speaking countries so that point makes no sense.
This is still the beta and most people haven’t even learned more than 2 characters. Let’s keep it simple until the game comes out and people actually start changing the layout.
I honestly don’t know why you would change the layout outside of disability. I think they did a decent job picking buttons.
Numericals are just not needed since forward is both 4 and 6. Overcomplicated.
Sony is a Japanese company. The game itself is announced in multiple countries, Japan having the first release. It IS international.
So instead of getting a notation settled early on, we’ll wait until the full game comes out and every country has a different notation style. Got it.
Arcade sticks, disliking the default layout, modified / nonstandard controllers, etc. Sorry, not everybody likes standard layouts. That’s why button remapping exists.
And when you change sides, qcf becomes qcb. 6 will always be 6. It’s no more complicated than any other notation form. 4 can also refer to turning around, which, in the future, might be part of combos.
Your saying a bunch of ifs and in the futures when I’m saying most of that stuff doesn’t apply yet so your just overcomplicating things. When the game comes out and people can change things then we should use numbers for characters that need them, until then it’s not really needed is it?
I doubt anyone is changing their layout at the start of every game like you have to do in the beta, too much of a pain. I think this might be one of those games people prefer to play with pad like Tekken or MK9. Could be wrong depending on how many qcf and qcb’s you have to do.
Supposedly there is a “stick mode”, which makes it so you can throw with the regular movement while holding a button. I read something like that at least.
Fun = competitively viable. Nobody plays a game because it is competitively viable. Everybody plays a game they find fun and then go to competitions for it.
There’s many things that can be fun but not competitively viable. The term fun is pretty different for each person, but I’m not asking about fun, I’m asking about whether it’s competitively viable or a party game as most people would usually dismiss games like it as (like Smash).
That wasn’t the issue, it didn’t register any of my shoulder buttons as buttons, when i did the tutorial i was fine until i got to the supers then i was forced to switch.
Hard to tell with just free for all bouts. It is fun to play, got enough smash components to make it easy to get into with enough to make it different. I’m still iffy on this all meter business.
I’ve been playing on stick just fine. I feel as though I might switch to controller for full release because using a button to block is still tripping me up sometimes.
(obviously in full release this will be a general menu option), but while you’re in match, you can change the controls to map those all-important throws to a button.
Better to plan ahead and make sure everyone is on the same page. Just dealing with the now helps no one in the long run. Since we know buttons can be remapped better to plan around that for when the real game drops.
I’m in favor of numerical notation as it’s the international standard for any game not made by Capcom.
Well I came up with a combo after using [A] for FP.
[A] j.2A 2A 8B
I like using Charged Wand because of the armor on it. Can bait out f.As from Kratos with Charged Wand then bop them on the head for a full combo.
