Playing against MUCH better players = pointless?

I wonder if playing against great players, get destroyed long sets after long sets is really useless or something still good to learn? I can handle with losing but i wonder if i grow up or not after all?

It’s useful if you are watching what they’re doing, trying new things, and trying to learn. It’s as useful as what you choose to get from it.

The Internet has spoiled people. Play against whomever you can regardless of skill level and you’ll probably get more out of it than if you only play when you think you’re going to get something out of it. Worry about tailoring your own learning experience when you’re practicing on your own time.

thought about it and playing better people is almost always beneficial. even if they’re too good. sure it’s not be “fun” if you can’t take a single game off them, but being exposed to solid/tight game play and things you haven’t experienced or seen before is a great benefit.

But online if the connection is too poor then yea, no benefit lol.

Nah, it’s not pointless.

wow, a serious post in the 3s forum?? good advice!

@OP In general I think you have to get used to the idea that you might not draw something concrete out of every session. Sometimes you just get raped bad and you don’t know why. Playing against the best even if you’re far outclassed is what every good player I’ve ever known does, so I’d strongly recommend it.

Hmmm ok i see guys.

I wonder what strong players who bodied me think after these sessions, “wtf i’m playing with that scrub?” “lol that guy was so terrible”… ??

If they’re sticking around and continuing to play you, don’t worry about what they think. Just be happy to get the experience. Regardless of what they think now you can earn their respect by taking every opportunity you get to play against better people and improving. Maybe a few months down the road you’re not getting obliterated by them and can hold your own, or come closer than you were at least.

So do you guys know what happened to Poe? That guy was everybody’s favorite poster and then poof, suddenly disappears.

WickedBob is like the bizarro IglooBob.

I think he’s the guy that used to own Denjin Arcade but I’m not sure.

Hey Womble, nice avatar, that fucking Dererk Neal! We should all kill, murder, beat up that deceitful bitch.

ok thanks for all advices.

Btw, i play Ryu with SA1, not a bad choice, huh? now, i must take a nap, played waaay too much.

its a nice av but its been done before and derek neal is a nice guy

No, Derek Neal is a BASTARD

idk i ran into him at my local catholic church he does good things

Derek Neal is kawaii.

I imagine him pray : “Please God, forgive me for OE, i know it’s a huge sin”.

na the spelling is WAY too good for bagrat

Unless you’re playing some turtle style sa1 (or denjin) Ryu, I can’t see the point in using him over ken tbh.

I think in some ways ggpo is better, in the sense that people tend to play for longer and it’s easier to like…Talk to eachother and shit. Meaning you can actually get some feedback on your play. That’s the main thing I don’t like about console fighting games online anyway.

A few years ago on this topic Valle told me “you don’t send an 8th grader to take a 12th grade test”.
