if you got time in training mode you can test all his things on block/hit with record replay function… and then try to punish with eg Julia super (2frame startup) ryu dp etc.

Oh by the way grapplers got really slow command grabs in this game. zangiefs command grab is 5 frame at best. so dudley will be boss in this game.

If dudley can still combo off his overhead (don’t remember if it’s the hp or hk), then he’ll be eons better than steve. This game is all about getting a combo started.

if you read earlier in the thread it does, i leads to about 380 damage if i remember right. If i had the hacked version myself i would find more damage tho probly.

LOL, as with all the unreleased characters, I’m sure they didn’t bother balancing him against the rest of the cast, because, why would they? It would cost them extra resources, and Capcom know they’ll be releasing a balance patch before (and probably at the same time) as the DLC characters are released anyway, so what’s the point? The way they obviously develop these things is to give a character all the tools they need, and then to strip back all the stuff that is obviously too powerful. Dudley hasn’t been stripped back yet. Remember all the hype people got playing Dudley in pre-release builds of SSFIV? The same exact thing is going on right here. I don’t mean to put a dampener on everyone’s hype, but the hacked version you are playing right now will not be the same version that is released, I will put money on it!

And this is also why it annoys me that people are all “these characters are complete, just release them already Capcom”. They are not, it takes time and money to balance the bigger roster of characters that Capcom haven’t spent yet, they are focusing on the core cast they have at the moment and getting that right (including patching out infinites) and then expanding this later when they have the core cast right. Dudley has all his assets on the disc, but he is by no means complete! His 3D model complete with moves is on the disc, but I’m sure Capcom don’t consider him, nor the other 11 DLC characters, complete yet. (Disclaimer; I don’t work for Capcom, just have some common sense).

You heard it here folks! If the character wasn’t balanced on day -75 then all hope is lost!

Dudley should go first though because of overhead, doesn’t need ex meter like steve and gets out of block string pressure and anti airs way better then his ssf4 version.

I did a combo earlier with dudley that ended with heavy mgb then switched over to steve costing me 1 ex bar , I landed 2 standing heavy punches and the 2nd standing HP i canceled into peekabo stance into Heavy punch where he punches you 3 times, and going into more juggles.

dudleys cr.jab can’t link into light machine gun BUT!

his jabs have range, can set up insane pressure, can link into cr.mp, and theres no timing needed for his cr.jab, you can just mash it out and it comes out rapid.

Got some serious match time in last night with some good Seattle players. I can tell you a few more things. I’m fairly certain EX MGB is at a plus on block, I am not even kidding. Fierce punch is not as good as before by any means, but it has it’s uses in frame traps and counter poking, and step straight should be totally avoided, it’s recovery is ungodly. Kidney blow doesn’t seem very good overall, it’s pushback really screws with combos. I already have optimized BnB’s that do fantastic damage, and let me just say, Duds high/low mixup in this game is INSANELY powerful, even with the roll. The fact that any of the target combos ending in mk links to hk really changes a ton. Duck uppers seem worthless. Duck straights are safe as hell. St.hk is amazing, given you can frame trap point blank with it and continue the blockstring with cr.mp, very scary. EX jet upper is the alpha counter, good damage. Didn’t use short swing blows enough, and haven’t experimented with their properties, but I think you can link after counter hit. I was able to link after a counter hit ducking straight. It equals pain.

Oh, and mp/cr.mp are amazing overall, period.

one thing i’d like to mention, dudley vs hugo is tricky, you can cr.hk hugos splash so he can’t jump in for free but once you get in your always on the look out of his armor and command grab. It’s easier to counter poke hugo in sf x tekken then it was in 3rd strike for all the 3rd strike dudley players that played hugo in 3s

Cross counter also works against more moves then it would in ssf4, example balrog lol

you can cross all his dash punches and turn punches but if any of them are low attacks it can’t be countered.

Dudley is a counterhit, mix up damn monster. I hate capcom also the reason why I can’t get any vids up because I don’t own the 360

I wouldnt worry bout Dudley getting any balance changes. They are done with the entire cast. Period. The trials are done, and altering frame data would rework the entire trial process… Looks like they wanted Dudley’s worthless moves to be better. So there was no reason for them to change the data to make them good then make them bad again.

This is like the Jill dlc…where people where like well shes not finish her damage is shit…they are obviously not done balancing her…then come release she was still crap.

Everything is done from intro/prologue, rival battles, trials to gameplay…sounds like they are all done and don’t plan to work on them any further and have moved on to their next project… Right now the remaining SFxT team is only looking at glitches, and infinite’s and not focused on balance changes while the rest are probably on vacation or working on their next game.

People really need to undestand that Capcom has finished the DLC and they are not being worked on any further. They may just patch a broken move or infinite if they find any but that’s about it. And if they find an infinite they may only alter pushback to address it.

I was wrong, dudleys duck straight is safe as hell on block lmao AND his ex mgb is safe on block. I haven’t found a use for his duck upper yet.

Dudley counters all tekken characters. Or he just has the tools for them all.

Jumping on dudley is tough for some weird reason. Has too many anti air tools and they all work very well DEPENDING on the character your facing.

Rolento HATES dudley.

on paper you think rolento rapes dudley but dudleys cross counter just makes it extremely tough. Also if rolento does get dudley knocked down, rolento is fearful of that cross counter cause it can fuck with him at any moment.

and we all know what happens when dudley knocks you down.

if you know your opponent will wake up with a switch attack to try and get their partner in. CROSS COUNTER AND BAM GG’S BITCHHH
