@Messatsu Orochi its beyond hyping my venue its about growing the community, if we can grow players out here, thats more players interested in not just my tournaments but the dojo, GCs, NW majors, and even more players that want 2 make the evo trip, and wat other events we can set up and yea i was there during the Tacoma Heyday, im 25 bro, i was gaming on MvC2 in HS all the time, never tried to play it in tournaments but i was constantly @ the tac mall arcade playing wit other players, ever since i got back on the scene ive seen quite a few familiar faces, and hopefully wen MvC3 drops even more appear
and as far as Tacoma being behind we are waaaaaay behind, in this new era of fighting games we are still collecting ourselves, playsmart is a god send because it @ least for now gives us a meeting grounds, and a state of the art venue for tournaments for years(hopefully) 2 come

narrows got sf4 in tacoma. where were you guys at? i made that trip out 1-2times a week while working 2 jobs. ;p

@Messatsu Orochi once SF4 came out for the systems it was a wrap, also, narrows been took out the SF4 machine months ago, witch is super duper whack since the update is comin out, i get pissed thinkin bout that :mad:

Okay so before i go 2 sleep im going to get this out the way:

I used 2 play fighting games all day everyday since i was younger, i never took them 2 seriously until i went 2 the arcade and seen a hi level marvel vs capcom 2 match, i was about 16 wen i seen this, all those infinite combos flying around the screen, it enchanted me, it showed me that there was more to this game then i could imagine,so after that a made several trips a week 2 the mall 2 watch and learn, this is of course before youtube and all these tutorial vids/threads and wat not(there probably was threads but i didnt even kno wat a thread was back then)anyways, i had to observe, ask questions, and pop in multiple quarters to attempt these hi end combos, id say for a good year i could beat a single player on the scene, but once it all clicked i finally had that feeling of being a true fighting game player,not 2 mention the feeling of getting wins,lol shortly after this the arcade closed down and with that so did my interest in video games, yea i went out and bought an Xbox 360 wen it came out but i just couldnt get 2 deep into any other genre besides fighting, i say around 07 i all but lost interest in video games. wen i heard about SF 4 in the narrows arcade i completely could of cared less, back then i was on some other shit, anyways, i had a chance 2 play SF4 in narrows around late Feb and as soon as i picked ken(newb shit,lol),and i instantly fell back in love wit fighting games, outta pure irony a week later my cousin bought me a copy of the game and i was back in it, it was because of SF4 i got Xbox live, i found an arcade stick on craigslist, caught the bus 2 southcenter get it from dude, i waited almost 2 months 2 get arcade stick parts from lizardlick.com to mod it. and this whole time i was thinkin “there has 2 be a community for all this” but still, i didnt think much of it. anyways not 2 long ago i had a chance 2 meet CBea thro a mutual friend and me and him became instant hommies, he pretty much brought me back on the scene, and since then thats wen i had chance 2 make an SRK profile, peep wats been goin on, and it didnt take long that i realized that over 70% of the scene is north of seattle, and thats wen i felt a sense of urgency 2 get 2gether some players out here and see what we can come up wit.
well for the most part thats my story, for the most part, im a dude that came out of nowhere talkin big shit holding a tournamnet in Tacoma, i just hope u guys can see were im comin from

This is the most random thread I’ve ever read on SRK. That’s saying a lot. This thread has beaten out deleted threads of the past such as “I’m Ugly”, “I Hate StiltMan”, and many other classics.
