a little bit of money, some goofy prizes, low turnouts, amateur/n00b level competition doesnt justify a drive to tacoma and some pizza. doesnt matter how nice you venue is now.
if i wanted a pack of cigarettes and walked into 7eleven with an original xbox and some plugs and was like ummmm marb menthol lights! theyd be like thatll be 8 dollars and you can take that bullshit with you!. and i could argue what an xbox’s current market value is, and how is worth more than a pack of cigarettes but they would still prefer the cash and not have the hassle of having some shit they dont want
@jacob2umf I dont see u going 2 a cooperate business and trying 2 do something for the community, the funny thing is everything ive ever done 2 promote this place has been in best interest of the community, and ur analogy dosnt make much sense like ive said before, Play Smart is gonna exist with our with out an SF tournament, as far as the pizza, it came wit the package of casual days were we get 2gether and kick it, as Nate that shit always was fun times…

@ 1st the pay out was 30, 20, 30 for 1st 2nd and 3rd, and entry was 15$
the pay structure now is a pot system and the split is 70, 20 10 and entry is knocked down to 10$
all the Xboxes are behing the counter and @ 1st we only able 2 play on 2 screens and had 3 copys of the game
now we have extension cords to reach mutiple screens and we now cary 6 copys of the game
the purpose of casual day is 2 build the community down here, the pizza comes out my managers pocket
only problem now is turn outs, who cares about competition level, its all about wining $, if 20 people consistently showed up that means 1st place is @ least 70$, now i cant beg people 2 come out all i can do is ask u guys, ive come 2 realize is Tacoma is a mob for most of yall, but shit, the main reason we mob up there is because thats were everything is for the most part…
^ jacob and josh were the people that found the venue for Twars season 1 and season 2 for awhile they also have been around for a long time and help the community out in many different ways that trying to find a venue ex. josh allowing people to stay at his place during pax, ya they are not running Twars at BW now or anything like that but they had to put up with a lot more shit there than anyone at playsmart as to put up with. Not trying to attack you but you shouldnt be trying to put people on blast saying they are not helping when they have done an amazing amount for the community already.
@Famous Nate u either do 2 things, build or destroy, with that said how is talking down we are doing out here building anything further? remember, u had a misunderstanding about me until u met me and u relized im a cool ass dude trying 2 get some SF players out on this side of the state, and last time i checked the more venues the better, as long as nobody is trying 2 throw events on the same day then its a win for all of us
my presence is enough to make people wanna come out, axxxxxxxxxe about me! so if i were to grace “play smart” with my attendance you could expect a real turn out, with real competition and i wouldnt even have to play. im loved out here, so like josh said-do your homework.
and you keep saying youre doing this to better the community, and to level up the south but all i really see is someone whos bored at work and needs some friends to play with. someone who presented his boss with an idea that he thought was great, and is now on the boards crying because its a flop. why do the same people that show up religiously keep cryin about how theyre not FREE, but cant even hold it down when 1 newcomer shows up to run the spot? then you play team friend mode and get salty when that person doesnt come back and youre stuck with the I AINT NEVA FREE crew. cmon man, nice try

Edit; Terrance the “SF is only 1 part of my life” is a gross rebuttle because that applies to basically everybody in the scene. I mean I am a “try hard” lol but even I have huge buisness responsibilities and hobbies I value higher than SF. Mainly Lax and Skiing, but I don’t try and defend my SF-ness though cause it’s a passion that I enjoy and I’m gonna do anything I do to the fullest. I may dog on those who do not. My view is if you’re are going to do something DO IT to the fullest otherwise what’s the point. That’s just me though I know people like Lo mejor avispado Señor Elias play SF4 despite their clear hatred of the game just because they enjoy the people. It’s a different viewpoint then mine and I respect it but come play time I will not hesitate to BOP people off the sticks in tournament because they do things differently. I’m understanding but not merciful.
