Hi everyone,
I know this formal announcement is pretty last minute, but I’ve been waiting on rules approval (for way too long, I might add) before posting this.
Anyways, here are the details:
[]The game will be Super Street Fighter 4.
[]“Local” rounds will happen at all of the individual Play N Trade stores in the Chicagoland area on May 15th. Start times will vary from store to store, so call yours to get details.

The top two finishers from each store then go on to play in the regional finals the following Saturday (May 22) at the Batavia Play N Trade location.
There is a $10 buy-in; the prize structure for the regional finals is as follows:
[]1st place gets $1000 store credit.
[]2nd place gets $500 store credit.

3rd place gets $200 store credit.
All store credit will be issued for the store that the recipient qualified at. So if you win 1st prize and you qualified at the Evergreen Park store, the $1000 store credit will be issued there.
You can find a list of local Play N Trade locations by plugging in your zip code here: http://www.playntrade.com/storefinder
As far as equipment (read: televisions) goes, unfortunately since it’s a franchise and every store is individually owned I can’t say for sure what people will be using for their displays. I know that here at the Naperville store (of which I am the manager) we’ll be bringing in a few CRTs for people to play on; I encourage anyone who is interested in entering to call their local store to see what’s up and hopefully work something out. I have no control over it.
One last thing before I get into the rules: I just read that the CGL bi-weekly is going down that day, and I apologize to everyone for springing this up at the last minute for the same day. Our event has been in the works for a while now, but when you have 13 or 14 different store owners involved in anything, shit takes a lot longer to happen than it would otherwise. If you’re interested in competing that day and are unable to make it to the bi-weekly, please consider registering at one of our stores and playing in our event. Obviously more advance notice is better; we’ll try to do better in the future so we’re not holding our events on the same day as others.
Here are the rules:
GAME WILL NOW BE PLAYED ON XBOX 360!!! BYOC!!!
[] Double Elimination
[] No turbos or macros are allowed.
[] Standard 2/3 games per match. Winners/Losers/Grand finals will be 3/5 games per match.
[] Winner of a game must keep same character. Loser can change.
[] Double-blind select available upon request.
[] Players may flip for 1P/2P upon request.
[] Pausing or hitting the guide button mid-game is an automatic forfeit for that round. In the event a player pauses or hits the guide button during play, his or her opponent will be allowed to hit them until they lose that round, regardless of meter built. The Imminent Defeat rule is in effect.
[] Please ensure your buttons are correct before the round starts.
[] The winner must report his/her win to the person running the bracket.
[] If you’re using a pad, please don’t be an idiot and turn it on during someone else’s match.

These are stores that will probably have other customers around, so please watch your language/behavior.
Please let me know if anyone has any questions. Again, sorry for the late notice; I realize that we sabotaged ourselves on that.
Also, I’m typing this from work; good luck to everyone at MWC this weekend!
EDIT: 05/12/10 @ 7:26 AM ? updated to reflect the fact that this will now be on Xbox 360
