I hate supercharged traps too but there is a way to use them properly and get the most out of them.
If your enemy is lightning element you’ll need something that comes out fast, HKW won’t cut it. A dive or aLKW / Grabbing works.
If your opponent isn’t lightning they dun just dropped the soap because you can HKW and THEN grab. After the grab throw the second trap to the left or right, predicting where they might tech roll and get electrocuted again IMMEDIATELY. They be dead.
Anyway, that’s sort of the gist of them, but I’m looking forward to what razor has to write about things regardless. I’m about half way through writing up basic ability analysis. Two stages left to write up as well, the desert ones.
I wish they made R2 a ‘ready item’ button and kept L2 as KW. It’s really silly how they have two guard buttons. That way you aren’t stuck when you equip a satellite laser and can’t fire it with people attacking you…
Oh yeah, the first trap really screws things up. I forgot about that, disregard first super charged trap strategy then.
Half the time I get them, I seriously just throw the first trap immediately to prevent this from screwing me up. In a mode like TDM these could have alternative strategies as well, setting up a choke point and everything. Putting one where a lift drops you, etc. Guaranteed connects are super charged traps best friend. So yeah. Back-grabbing is probably the best option if you are ready to roll with 2 traps. They’ll be super prepared the next time you throw one though so I think that the discard 1 and keep 1 method is probably a better idea.
Unless you’re prepared to fight someone off at a severe disadvantage, medic style.
Alright, there’s a pretty big update coming soon. I’m going to upload its WIP state onto the pastebin, theres a few sections missing and not done yet. It’s mostly just stage analysis and ability analysis. Some characters got boosts in their combo section and I cleaned some other stuff up. Forgive me if it looks messy right now.
Mainly doing this to see if anyone wants to add stuff to the stages / ability section. Some stuff is just really self explanatory like cage match enthusiast, sprinter and whatnot. I mean… there’s not much depth to them. Anyways. Enjoy that unholy mess I’ve been working on lately.
I’ll change it around in my raw file. Thanks for pointing that out, I was always under the assumption you’d get more points if you killed someone. Like a point thief ability.
Something weird happened to me yesterday. I was playing AR on the 360 yesterday waiting in a TDM lobby when the timer started counting down with only 7 people in the lobby.
I assumed it would stop after a few seconds but much to my surprise it counted all the way down to zero with only 7 players.
When the match started there was a Baron in his black color right next to our team (blue team). Yes there was a black Baron (no pun intended) in TDM and the red team was down 1 player.
The Baron could’ve been attacked and killed by either team. During the result screen there were only 7 players. Fisticality was in that match with me.
I thought I’d seen everything this game could throw at me, but I was genuinely surprised by this.
There was one tdm where red was full and blue had 3 people, an 8th person joined on red team and they had 5 people O_o. I wish I took picture of it. The 5th person eventually left and the match ran as normal. But that was the weirdest glitch I’ve ever seen.
I’ve also encountered that glitch once before. Red team had 5 players, and the extra was actually a legitimate part of red team. Blue team (my team), only had 3 players. Match played out as normal and when we all got to the lobby–nothing changed.
I asked the player how he did that, he never gave me a concrete answer. So Deezee, Fear, was the extra player actually immune to the red team’s attacks?
The strange thing is, the guy in black was able to go lone wolf and damage players on either team. However, he was the 20th kill of the match… which ended it, giving us the win. He didn’t even have a team, technically.
Really odd how that all happened. At first, I thought the black Baron had “hacked” into our game somehow. We started out just looking at him like “Wtf?” lol.
