Considering buying this game… Is the demo relevant to check the online popularity and performance or does it draw from a segregated pool of demo users only? I’m on EU PSN.
Herro~
I’m “YinYangTiger13” on PSN, and I tend to use Big Bull and Rin Rin the most, with Douglas creeping his way up there. All three in their black color palettes, if the game type allowed it. And I don’t mind if you add me; go ahead. :3
I don’t think the demo exists anymore unfortunately, it got taken down when the japanese max anarchy got released. Correct me if I’m wrong.
AR is 19.99 now right? Honestly the community is in a tidddddddbit of a surge right now thanks to the digital release so now is the time to get in while there are a lot of new players going around, when it fizzles out again and all that’s left is the regulars—it won’t be as fun getting into it.
I’m pretty sure that was the case of the demo; got taken down as soon as it was released in Japan. Though I had the demo when it was first released and kept it around to hold me and some e-friends over until it finally came to the US (only one of them actually imported the full game). So, I could tell ya that, when the full game was released in Japan, activity on the demo all but nearly vanished. There were a FEW people left here and there, but I’d disregard it, as the demo is gone anyway.
And it’s weird, cuz while new copies of the physical game are around 19.99 right now, I looked it up on PSN and it’s being sold at the initial 29.99 price it had by western launch. o.o
That’s not weird at all, digital prices are MSRP, not the generally accepted price.
Also are the majority of peepz on here on PSN? Cause if so I might just finally join you guys
Nothing worse than getting paired with a fuck-head in Tag Battle, which is either the funnest or most frustrating mode ever.
You cant even salvage it, because them sucking brings down the composite score.
A good portion are on PS3 but I know there are also a group of dedicated 360 players. Not sure how many come here though. I know of Guy and Magnum, that’s about it.
This isn’t actually useful to new people, but the demo is still available to whoever had downloaded it at the time, you can access it by your download history. I did redownload it a month ago or so to check just in case if something was different out of curiosity, mostly if the new techniques worked(the obviously do). This a thing with any demo in any region btw, kind of funny.
I know how that feels bro. x_x
Anyone have a 360 Bayo code ;_; I imported my copy.
Downloading the xbox demo right now.
Remember the demo does have the ability to beat on an idle AI but since there’s no options for tactical roll or guard on damage taken you have to limit yourself.
The demo is pretty much dead, I’ll be surprised if you still find people playing that. On the actual game, depends on the time you get on. You will find people but in very small amounts at times. Then again psn release and dlc means this game might get a small boost with people.
There are some minor differences between the demo and the actual game. Like the invite system (blue team invites go in order of slots not reserved to friends unless on red team), kill streaks to level up (instead of 2 kills to level 3, you have to get 3). For online performance, You can generally fight people with like 2-4 bars. Maybe the occasional 1 bar connections that are not teleport across the map, rape your face bad(Watch out for Baron…). Framerate is a little choppy depending on your connection and its kinda bad in full battle royale.
I’m picking this game up for Xbox, playing the demo right now and having fun so far. 19.99 isn’t too bad either.
Bought the game today. Now I need actual organized source of info on all the shit I should know about…
Xbox or PS3?
I believe ps3 has more people on it right now. I need a ps3.
Boodendorf has a few tuts on his channel, then there’s the twitch cancel tut on the last page.
Same here. Even the community seems better. I’ve seen people whine a lot about neon6plz, but at least he doesn’t use Bastard Evader. And I was watching Anon’s stream a couple of days ago, he and Fear did pretty damn good against neon and that other guy. Also lol @ that yellow Bull. Didn’t he go 10-0 one match, while his partner was a CPU? Good shit. I only watched a little, but that was some intense stuff. Almost entirely lvl 50s, but NO ONE was using ME.
I just wish there were more SRK people, or hell, more people in general. Tired of running into the same annoying people every time I boot up the game. Seriously, most of the “good” players on 360 are laggy master evaders, Fei Rins, and Bayonetta glitchers. There are some cool guys on GameFAQs, like VagrantSun and Dr Noah Body. There’s Guy. And there are other random players like EroticOreo, Splashbrony, Petalos, BlueShock, ViperxBite, oddsocks, Azure Aracia, Passione, etc.
The 360 Japanese also seem to be much better than the PSN ones, assuming your connection is good enough to actually let you join their lobbies. I played a team deathmatch a while back with a group of Japanese and one guy from Europe. No one, but the European guy used ME, and he eventually rage quit and was replaced by another Japanese guy. But anyway, those were by far the best games I’ve had the pleasure of playing in this game. 1-bar connections with all of them, but everyone played like a 4-bar, no one used ME/GM, and no one used any glitches (no Baron OHKOs, no Bugonettas). The matches were intense, and even though I lost most of them, I absolutely LOVED it. Those matches were what AR should have been at all times.
Otherwise, you will see the same people all the time and you know exactly what to expect from the. I dunno, maybe the community is way bigger, I mostly only play on weekends so… Also wtf is up with everyone’s obsession with team deathmatch? I hardly ever see a team battle, which seems to be an everyday occurrence on PSN. We need more players on 360, and legit players at that.
Anyway, for good resources, there’s Boodendorf, but for even better gameplay, check out Anon’s channel and legend91MGS. legend’s parent channel also has some AR vids.
Anyway, looking for a couple of answers:

Grabs are so easy to tech, so why does Anon constantly try to grab people? I’ve become so accustomed topeople teching grabs, that I don’t even bother. Even against weaker players, until I accidentally grab them and they don’t tech, reminding me that I should use grabs more. But what’s the point against players like neon and Alda? I saw him trying it quite often, but when someone techs, they can just follow up with light jabs, so it seems pretty risky.

Someone please explain why Durga’s so hyped. On GameFAQs there are people who’d go as far as to put him up there with Bayo and the Rins, i.e. an S-rank character. Imo he’s pretty overrated. He can’t do much in bigger modes because of his damage output, which is why I prefer Rin Rin in 8-player or more modes. I mean, he can, but it’s tough and you have to work for it. He’s probably S-rank in cage, though to be honest I’ve only ever caged one bothersome Durga and he was doing combos that I don’t think are legit. Like is it possible to do lean, delay, launcher, KWL x3 and then follow up with another lean attack? It was basically instant, as if he was moving faster than me (he had 2 bars so…). And he wasn’t twitch cancelling, either. Pretty sure it was lag.
On a side-note, I went online and tried using twitch cancels… didn’t go so well. I can do it pretty consistently in practice (except a few like Durga’s lean and delayed launcher). Online is another story. It’s such a rush online, that I try to cancel too fast and it either completely fails or, worst case scenario, I end up KWHing and getting punished hard for it. Eh, better practice some more. >.>
I find that grabs can be effective against even the most skilled players when used at the right time, particularly in times when they’re just completely blind-sided by them. In one stream I saw, Anon almost always got Aldalome with grabs, and they seemed pretty easy to tech out of most of the time. I didn’t see Alda in a situation where actually NOT teching the throw would save him from something worse, so I couldn’t imagine him thinking that either. So, I guess whenever the situation presents itself, take a chance with a throw even if it probably won’t work. Especially the charged running throws. shrugs
And from personal experience, I normally tech throws pretty consistently, but when I’m caught by one I didn’t see coming, I either was too slow to react in time to tech or it “doesn’t work.” Dunno if lag told me NOPE or I pressed the button a bit too hard that time. Probably lag since there had been times where I tech properly, the grab on me keeps going, but before it’s completely finished, the game THEN decides to release me… STILL damaged from the first few hits of certain grabs. -_-
