…Trust me, it’s some pretty hateful mail.
The name is definitely familiar, but other than that, I’m drawing blanks. But like I told Guy, that’s more of a compliment, lol. The only reason I could name those good players off hand was because I recently played matches with or against them.
Yeah, now that you mention is, I might have played a few cage matches with Deadlock as well a team deathmatch before either of us were lvl 50s. The cage match was bullshit. I’m pretty sure I was using Durga and he was playing as Max. Every time I caught him in a loop he’d immediately, masigcally break out of the hitstun, dodge to the side and catch me in a loop that took off like 90%+ of my health. But he isn’t undefeatable. He was getting banged up in that team deathmatch until gikkus showed up and smashed everyone with Bayonetta.
I watched your videos and I was going to comment on your playstyle, but that’s better than I’ve ever done in a BR so I’ll just keep my mouth shut. :I
Anyway, your vids reminded me of a few more players. Knock Outsz seems like a decent guy. I actually played him recently, but forgot his name. It’s just a shame he ended up on a less than average team. Vixen Fang Kyu is pretty good from what I’ve seen. The TB players (Inuyasha and EroticOreo) are from some gaming guild or something called TribalBoyz.
Oh yeah, add califreshhh to the “lag list”. He’s a 1-bar Fei Rin, not even the pimpryuken knocks him out. He goes flying but his health remains static.
I’m kind of relieved to see that Last Exile can actually be killed. But that Deadlock fucker, all he does is turtle around and use his flying punches. I swear, ME is the bane of this game. Sega/P* need to remove this thing, just ONE thing, and it would make online that much better. If anything it would be priceless watching all those false senses of superiority come crashing down. All those assholes who use ME would be stomped hard by people who aren’t so dependent on it. The rage would be glorious.
I mean as it stands, apart from team modes, it doesn’t even seem like players like Deadlock can be killed. Well, I’ve personally never seen him die in free-for-alls.
Shoot forget annoying players, there are a handful of players who are next to impossible to kill. Apart from player modes, do you guys ever lose any games? Like do you ever come in the last few places or, more than that, do you ever end up with more kills than deaths?
Wow, what’d you do to them? Must’ve been something hilarious, you gotta tell me! Post a vid of your gameplay or something. Should be interesting.
But I too am kind of surprised by Harle’s hate mail. He doesn’t seem like that kind of guy. Of course, this is just assuming, I don’t know the guy at all so yeah.
Speaking off players with anger management, have you ever taken on some guy named Paradonyx? Apparently he’s a god or something, but he’s a bit unstable, mentally speaking.
On a side-note, does Baron have some kind of counter move? Maybe it’s just me, but it seemed like there was a Baron who was doing this Max-like counter attack. It was a KW move, I think, since his flame fists were out.
Baron’s Hold heavy is a counter that just absorbs a hit.
lolwtf paradonyx getting mad, I barely ever can kill that guy or Deadlock. Was just in a 2v2v2 flag match with him last night.
Mostly just people getting mad that people are running away on low HP. Wtf do you expect, no one likes to die. lol. Am I the only one able to contain their salt? Because I know everyone gets salty over any fighter, but not everyone bitches openly about it. It’s a fighter.
At least I’m not running away the ENTIRE TIME LIKE SOME PEOPLE DO. I got accused of running away like a pansy ass by someone who wouldn’t even fight me 1v1, literally ONLY ran until he had no one on him. I’ve done 2v1s from time to time on full HP (not as hard as you think if it’s BR, use a lot of AA heavies). There is a risk in that but most people don’t know how to coordinate combos and try a bunch of juggling lights, which eventually pushes you too far and you get away. Come on.
Deadlock’s been using Durga a lot more lately, possibly because ever since I cage matched him at one point I was abusing slide heavy a lot. This character is dumb and without the new tech? He’d be unbeatable unless you’re Fei or Bayo imo
It’s kind of funny too, since people like Paradonyx and Deadlock do exactly that. No idea why they bitch about others doing the same thing. All I know is that without ME, players like Deadlock and Last Exile would get their balls kicked so hard, they’d shoot straight into their skulls and rattle around like a pair of dice in a Yahtzee cup.
I don’t care about them getting mad or them being “good” or anything, I just want to know if you can actually knock those guys out, or at least the laggy stalkers like deadlock and Path of Exile.
Oh yeah, for that last vid, I didn’t know they auto-embed. Read the description, the only reason the guy posted it was because Paradonyx flipped out after that match. It would probably be easier to take care of these guys, if other randoms weren’t so stupid and didn’t bother you while you were finishing them off. That’s probably one of the biggest irritations in this game, after ME.
You can definitely take them out if you take advantage of randoms fighting them or use poles/tires when they’re looking for kills. That requires you stalk them though, and if you’re trying to win while not being in 1st you can’t afford to do that. That’s why it’s hard.
Note, though; Zero can effectively counter MasterEvader with shift heavy KW cancels if done properly, though. In fact, I’ve been using Bull with lean extender + the new shit for a while, and if you DO choose to stalk ME users, you CAN break their guard eventually with lean lights KW canceled, since when they finish dodges they’ll get hit on block.
…But this, again, requires you to use the new tech. Like I’ve been saying, it’s a godsend for people who like to get offensive like me. But you gotta use it.
Wow… Have not posted here in forever! Wassup Anarchist! If you guys are still alive, I was wondering if you all can help with something. What I need is help in trying to revive this dead game by dropping some knowledge on players who don’t check these forums! Boo (who quit this game) a few months ago made a few tutorial series that got a few players interested and stopped them. I felt that cool info about this game should be known to the players who step online so that they wouldn’t get bodied fray and salty chuck their copy into the ocean. Is anyone willing to help make a video series of basics to help guide those who don’t know about this games mechanics? Or do you think its a waste of time and rather move on to another game.
tl;dr: I don’t want this game to die and I certainly don’t want to fight Japan every time. Want to get this hype again?
Side note: http://www.twitch.tv/anon7906 Anon streams like every weekend and I upload hilarious glitch videos of my matches so we’re still playing this game how bout ya’ll?
Going to be playing today, how many euros on 360 do we have here?
And whats this “new stuff” you guys are on about?
I can help if you really need it.
Too hard to pull off consistently, though. With most characters I can barely do it like five times at most. With Durga’s lean, which would be the most useful, it’s a mircale if I can get two in a row. It’s way to risky online. You really need to focus and that’s way easier said than done. I haven’t even seen anyone actually use it online.
Anyway, I got my first ever hatemail and it was from none other than Paradonyx himself! It was 2v2v2 capture the flag, I killed him twice in the first match and manhandled him enough in the last two matches to make sure his team finished last (they got the flag like once in those three games, while my team was neck-in-neck with the third team).
I saw the little message notification pop-up and I was expecting hate, but yikes, that dude has some major problems. I know winning is srs bsns for some people, but yeesh, this was uncalled for. And you know the funny part? He’s not even legitimately good, he’s just another one of those master evading laggy Fei Rins. All he can do is turtle around and use that braindead AA>aKWH combo. He also pulls bullshit techniques like magically escaping you MIDAIR combo (would have killed him a third time otherwise) and equipping Master of Master Evader which allows his dodges to be twice as long as the Master Evader dodges. Also wtf, his taunt has invincibility frames or a magic force field or something so when you attack you just stop in front of him like you hit a wall, he 360s, sends you flying, and somehow he can catch you before you land. And, I dunno if it’s just me, but his health regenerated way to fucking fast. I know health regen is stupid fast, but I literally saw his health go from red to full in like 5 seconds. I mean, holy shit, it was fucking fast.
It’s also kind of funny how with these kinds of players when you finally get them in a combo, the camera and/or the lock-on decide to fuck around and screw you over. But that won’t ever happen for these guys! Nope, they never have problems with camera or lock-on, even when they suddenly warp directly behind you. Or how they can always escape your rampage, but you can’t ever escape theirs.
Anyway, I’d say after that match, that I’m fairly confident that I’m a pretty good player. I can hold my own against most other players who I’d consider legitimately good, it’s just these laggy assholes with delusions of grandeur that give me trouble. Like a deathmatch with deadlock where I’m getting stunned every 3 seconds by weak attacks or, hell, nothing at all! My character just suddenly collapses from exhaustion or gets a heart attack or something. Even than, I can run circles around most of these annoying players. I just wiped the floor with one of the 1-bar Fei Rins I mentioned earlier and I kept this up for a bunch of deathmatches.
I would help anyway I can. More people playing means more of a chance that Sega will fix some things and more of a chance that we might see a sequel someday. Or not since it’s Sega we’re talking about, but whatever.
On a side-note, my enjoyment of AR convinced me to pick up a more conventional fighting game. I got SFxT… doesn’t seem to have much respect from what I’ve read… Well, can’t go wrong with the special edition for $5. Or can you?
More AR info is needed, 70% of people online still don’t know to press R1 to get-up properly. I’d say make the videos, but at this point it won’t do much good IMHO. So it’s really up to uhh, ones moral fiber. Help in a miniscule way and say you did your part or do nothing, like everyone else.
Good luck for that, I won’t help though as I don’t really am interested in the game anymore.
What I can do is like some of the playlist I made for the game, they might become useful for you guys.
It’s too hard if you’re not trying hard enough. I’ve found 3 people on 360 that can do it as consistently as I can.
When we find new tech on fighters that is hard to do, we practice it. TAC infinites for marvel were hard to do (among a few other complaints) and thus were considered awful and not so useful. Until people practiced. Now you see one almost every match.
Are you guys still talking about canceling?
AA canceling is about as easy as it comes, just place your thumb inbetween Y / A or Tri / X. You guys are on 360 right? It’s good to see dedicated players there. I wonder how each community fares up, there aren’t many people using the techniques on PSN either. I am one of the few and I tried to spread it around as much as I could but most people don’t care enough to take this game any further than the BNB combos.
I can AA cancel 90% of the time , the other 10% I’ll accidentally HKW and get owned for it.
Twitch KW canceling is a different monster, it feels like some moves can be done easier than others and each have different windows, so just because you have the timing down for one move, it’s completely different for another. Like I can do oinkies delay heavy cancel into a juggle pretty consistently, but any of his other heavies, nope. I tried for ages to try and cancel his W - W -H but it just wasn’t happening.
Like Garuda’s PPH -> PPH -> P -> LKWx3 is probably one of my favorite combos and it’s not that hard to learn the window for his cancel on that particular move.
Guy is right though, it seems stupid hard at first, but you get used to doing it and it just sort of flows out after a while.
Also sort of random but does anyone know why my avatar is blurry as hell, I tried changing it a few times and it’s blurry no matter what image I use. do I need to find something more HQ? >_>
You just gotta remember you do the tech at the same time you’d normally just cancel into a KW normal and that technically LT is pressed before your attack. It gets simpler from there.
That applies to anything that requires skill. The question is whether or not it’s useful. The initial excitement was so that players who tried to play the game could handle master evaders and more conservative players. But in all the chaos of online, would it actually work? It might, but is it worth the risk? I know, I know, risk and reward, but I think in this case the potential reward is far outweighed by the potential risk. Plus, you’ve more or less mastered the technique and you even said yourself that you can barely take out the more notorious players. Sure, those guys are also laggy and glitchy, but…
Really? I’ve yet to see anyone attempt it. Even the better (and the “better”) players don’t seem to know about it as I haven’t even seen anyone do it in order to show off or experiment.
I’ve got it down for the most part, but don’t use it too much. Having to press Y, A and the KW trigger at the same time? The button placement makes it a bit awkward.
So is P attack just a synonym for W or L attack or something else entirely?
On topic of an AR community, I’ve seen a lot of people bring up ideas, but no one’s really done anything. Someone on GFaqs suggest an IRC and another guy suggest a small forum of some sort.
Yeah, W would be P, I was just thinking basic punch when I wrote that. We really should try and gather the community in one place before it completely fizzles out, if the people that are left are committed then we should at least try and organize. I know there’s still some really dedicated players on gFAQ’s, including myself.
A lot of the “better” players are the ones who play BR and Team matches with assistance from Master Evader, like Deadlock and INSECT; though Deadlock and some others do actually play smart, smart in this game is just being aware of your surroundings and minimap, and launching yourself at low HP people with dive moves. That’s why they refuse. I’ve beaten them WITH that shit, without it? They’re hopeless (unless it lags).
Until more people become smart and/or use the new shit, these “better” players will continue to ignore it and do what they’re doing. Just like how tournaments work. Use what works to win until it stops working, then use something else to snag a win.
One advantage that I DO have is I use Bull, who is very great at chipping away at guard for guard breaks. Bringing lean extender, use a few twitch canceled lights, and when you think the time is right, KWlight once, then continue your light pressure. Lean extended lights move you faster and farther than ME does. You’ll hit their guard at least once with it and they’ll be close to breaking soon enough. Unfortunately, this takes time, which in Battle Royale you don’t have a lot of to get to #1. Highly pointless to be chasing after one guy for minutes unless he’s the #1 spot.
Anyone can be good with ME and GM, the real good players are the ones kicking ass without those crutch abilities.
Also, game is so dead on weekdays damnnnnnnnnnnnn, can’t even fill a cage match
