I named no names here. No one knows who the rep is supposed to be, and yes, they are a clown if they don’t back down from the offer. None of the players out of Houston are top 5 in the US. Sorry. Most of the US would agree as well.
One idea, how much would it cost to send Zinac to Japan ourselves? Maybe the community could scrape together the money, send him individually, and then the other two members boot the wanker PZ puts in. If four people show up, SBO is going to have to boot one of them, and Emokid won’t be able to do anything about it when the other three throw out the fourth person.
Yeah, Emokid still gets to send one of his buddies to Japan, but the proper team gets to go.
Kinda selfish to give money up for it, but I’d contribute $5 or $10. If a couple hundred people donated $5-10, that could do it.
Not saying this would happen, but the most interesting way to settle this would be Kensou vs. Zinac in a best of 7 series. Hosted on you tube of course. I don’t even mean on guilty gear either, we’re going to do this street fighter 5 style: the fight goes back to the streets!

NO, you genius. The best TEAM goes through; that’s the whole point of a TEAM tourney. There is bound to be a weaker player on certain days or whatever, that’s why TEAM EFFORT will pull you through; because if someone has a bad day someone else on the TEAM will have their backs and vice versa.
The point of a TEAM, is that you have 3 people, and each of them is good at something. That equals TEAMwork. A TEAM is formed upon agreement; whether they’re friends or people with the same goal. So if you take away a member of that TEAM, and add someone the other to players never planned on having…your TEAM work is going down the god damn drain. You think Jais and Raekwon are gonna be happy about their new TEAMmate? Jais and Zinac are both members of Tenkai, thus they most likely play each other alot, and this applies with Raekwon too. They are a TEAM because they know each others strengths, weaknesses and personality; thus they can act.
And what, you (and emogear or whatever) actually think that replacing Zinac with someone from PZ will better America’s chance? Whoever the PZ dude is will get sent back crying, because let’s face it, he didn’t even win the Showdown Championships.
Jais’ team would rather work hard, try their best and get to wherever they get to as a TEAM of friends and be happy; rather than go with a damn stranger they didn’t pick, lose, and just get straight pissed off. Unless this PZ dude is some super high level player that can carry the team to the top 4, then he wasn’t worth kicking Zinac off; and even if he is he still wasn’t worth it, because this kinda stuff doesn’t come before friendship, if the TEAM was also formed with friendship. Now I know the Tenkai players value friendship as their moral code in the GG community even over being the best…so yeah.
Don’t give us the “Bu-but, they should send the best players gaiz” excuse; because no one is sending the best players, they are sending the best TEAM.

Hmm…this happened in my own backyard.
I had plans to go to PZ and get some comp in, wanted to actually play some competent players, but this guy seems like a dick and I would rather not do business with him.
Kinda sad though, feel sorry for the guy who was booted out, that doesn’t even make sense. I’d jump onboard Astral’s idea and chip some cash in, beat the other fucker up in Japan and leave him in a dark alley. :lol:

Yeah, didn’t someone mention that everyone has to use a unique character in a team tourney? That means single tournaments aren’t a good way to pick out the best players because if the top 3 are all Eddie players you have to force two of them to shift to a less optimal character which would result in a far weaker team.
Otherwise there would be no need for a team tournament. Emogear bringing up the single players ranking is just an attempt to muddy up the argument since they are a complete non factor in a team tournament. A good team can play characters that cover each other’s weak match ups and pick up the slack when needed. A thrown together team simply won’t be as effective because they may all have similar play styles/character types that all lose to the same thing.
