^^Awesome, it really helped me out.
The only thing I would add is to make sure that you save the image as .png. I tried saving as gif but it made some small border around the image. Using png worked great.
I have a quick question…I want to use this animated gif as part of my avatar
http://www.zweifuss.com/ken/kenstance.gif
, I have one issue though.
I used the tutorial by DarkDragon(http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=3424478&postcount=1015) and followed each step, my only problem is that once I end up with an animated .gif file the animation of Ken isn’t as smooth as the original.
Is there a way to possibly keep the original animation speed somehow?
remember the speed that is used from the original sprite and apply that to your finished work.
frames 1 and 2: 0.05
frames 3-6: 0.06
frames 7-10: 0.05
Thanks for that Shatterstar, i’ll be sure to try it out

Heh, yeah. I’ve been registered here for a while but haven’t really started posting until now. I’d be happy to do another set for you once exams are done trying to eat me alive. O.x
Yeah Dood: Woo, my first rep. xD Thanks! Hopefully there’s something useful in there, I wrote too many tutorials back in the day, haha.

shit is boss
can you make one for the av you have on that forum?
can anyone kick down a tut on how to do that style worthless has been doing lately in ps?
http://coup-media.com/monte/images/sendo.gif
there’s my nub attempt, just a buncha motion blurs. simple but effective. hope you don’t mind worthless, I think that style is pure genius.
Not a tut.
:u: Oh snap, Sendo is too awesome… dood.
ok sorry. here’s how you do a motion blur.
- make a new document in imageready.
2.duplicate the layer of what you want to blur 2 times so you have 3 copies and have each layer in its own frame
http://coup-media.com/monte/images/sendotut/tut1.png
-
Goto the second frame and click on the second layer.
-
Goto filter>blur>motion blur. Then adjust the angle and distance to your preference. The angle points where you want the picture to blur towards and distance determines how distorted the image will be. For this frame you want to just be able to tell what the picture originally was
http://coup-media.com/monte/images/sendotut/tut2.png
- Goto next frame and next layer and again apply another motion blur but this time increase the distance so you can barely tell what the original image is.
http://coup-media.com/monte/images/sendotut/tut3.png
If you did it right it should look something like:
http://coup-media.com/monte/images/sendotut/tut4.png
then repeat for the rest of the frames that you want in the image.
Protip: move each frame around slightly to increase the choppyness effect.
Hope that helped!
