i have to admit iām sorta hyped for this game since i may be able to play it. if the arcade place where i go really does have a jap 360ā¦then i may get a chance to play this game with others on the regular.
hope so, just cuz of how rare it will be in the west.
if they get it, iāll definately try this game out.
try out that cool chick with the two daggers.
maybe they postponed the release of this game to fix some of the sound issues.
who knowsā¦
maybe theyāll work on other stuff that needed fixing that we donāt know about.
let us know when is the new release date.
edit on may 5th:
Release date according to play-asia is june 2nd 2011.
Weāre almost there. Just 2 more weeks! Phantom Breaker drops on June 2nd in Japanās timezone, (Wednesday if youāre in America). My game ships on the 3rd, so I can offer to you my personal opinion on the game sometime that weekend, probably the Monday.
Things I will immediately check and post in this thread about:
*If the game is region protected (I have jap and reg 360s I can test with)
*If the game has improved since the demo
*Personal thoughts
*Online netcoding, how effective it is, etc.
*DLC/Unlockables. I heard if you played the demo you unlocked something in the retail game so iāll be checking that too.
ALSO: Sequel confirmed?
TO BE CONTINUED 30
Story Mode: saw the ending of the fin
^ one of the achievements. Looks like Finās story mode will hint at a possible sequel
Itās worth noting they also rated BlazBlue as 7/7/8/8, which puts Phantom Breaker 3 points behind BlazBlue.
Points the review made was:
*Lack of Tutorial Mode
*Arcade Mode lasted 30 minutes, it didnāt mention how long Story Mode was
*Unlocking all hidden characters took 8 hours
The achievements hinted the unlocked characters were unlocked via Story Mode, so if true, the story modeās a bit long. (BlazBlueās story was what, 3 hours tops?)
OKAY, with less than 15 hours before the game is launched, Famitsu decided to release videos of people that DONāT SUCK.
They arenāt āprofessionalsā, as the game isnāt even out yet, but they are classified as āintermediateā, so they know some combos at least.
Sadly, these are all characters weāve seen in motion before. We still donāt have good footage of Fin, Infinity, Rimi, Kurisu or Phantom (boss only?)
Now, um, I gotta tell you guys. My game ships on the 2nd and 3rd, and I most likely wonāt get it until later next week. However, in the meantime, iām betting videos will be all over youtube starting tommorow afternoon when the game is launched. Iām always late to the party (sad face.jpg). Regardless, iāll try to get a Livestream and some videos going when I get it, and I promise the FIRST THING iām testing the second itās in my hands is Region Protection (I have american and japanese 360s I can test with. No EU ones, sorry!)
This actually looks a lot better than the initial location test. Anyone care to give a system/mechanics breakdown? Iāll probably have mine tomorrow, if not Monday at the latest.
why is it that no body uses hard? as already speculated that the system are inspire by LB2 pow and speed. IS speed just more effective or is hard just barley been explore? I play lb2 a lot and I mainly use pow.
I can only guess that hard player will have a hard time retaliating on a just dodge since their mix up option is limited unlike quick. Well this is just theory but Iām hoping to use hard ( if i can get this game) As i hate doing chain links.
Looks like iāll be cracking this open tonight for a bit. This is probably the first time in recent memory that iāll be going into a fighter with zero information on how it actually plays or even how moves are done since there seems to be no information out there that isnāt in japanese.
Also title update is coming in sometime down the line. The back of the game box says āGame-content downloadā so I assume there will be DLC released for this game.
Also, unlocking the 4 characters is tedious so far. I had to beat story mode with everyone to unlock Fin, now iām trying to unlock Rimi/Chris/Infinity, through arcade mode I assume.
Just got the game tonight. Went in with very low expectations, but my first impression is positive. Not nearly as clunky as I was expecting. Downloading some replays of the people on top of the leaderboards, the matches get fairly intense. Iād like a explanation of the system/mechanics if anyone has a grasp on them.
