Phantom Breaker: Extra - Available in Arcade, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (in Japan)

Here are two videos I recorded of me playing this game

#1:

#2:

serikamo uploaded 3 new vids.

I have no idea why he skipped 5 btw.

You know, this game looks A BIT decent when both players both know what they’re doing IMO. But that doesn’t disregard the bad sound effects, especially from Yuzuha’s super. :shake:

Now if only the guys playing could try out “Heavy” style.

My videos show both Heavy and Quick styles for every character, and are superior to those videos you posted.

DEMO DOWNLOAD: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z5T8WVE5
OKAY I’VE UPLOADED THE DEMO. WARNING: YOU WILL NEED TO DO WORK.

Things you will need:
*A computer
*An xbox 360
*A flash drive with at least 1GB free space
*Some brains

EASY MODE: You can skip all of this if you have a Japanese Xbox Live Account. This demo can be downloaded off Xbox Live even with a japanese silver account starting Tuesday or Wednesday. This tutorial is for lazy people that can’t make japanese xbox live accounts.)

Step 1.) Make your flashdrive xbox-accessible. To do this, insert the flashdrive in the Xbox 360, go to ‘Memory’, try to open your flashdrive. It’ll ask you to make the flashdrive xbox-accessible. You’ll want to give the xbox at least 756MB of your flashdrive space, as the demo is 522mb.

Step 2.) You’re done with the xbox for now. Put your flashdrive in your CPU.
Step 3.) Get and run Xtaf Explorer. I am not going to tell you how.
Step 4.) Open your flashdrive using Xtaf Explorer (File—>Device Selector)

Step 5.) Create the following folder structure USING XTAF EXPLORER if it doesn’t already exist.
Data Partition > Content > 0000000000000000 > 465687E6 > 00080000

Step 6.) Select 0008000 using xtaf explorer. Unzip the downloaded demo, and drag the file from the unzipped folder (do not drag the folder, only the file) into xtaf explorer
Step 7.) It should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/kgMbA.png
Step 8.) You are done. Unplug the flashdrive and insert it in the xbox. You should find Phantom Breaker Demo available in the game library

Final+Legal Note.) Please do -NOT- access Xbox Live while using this demo. The demo has no xbox live features. However, this demo is resigned to my profile/system, so if multiple people are using xbox live while playing the demo, xbox live might go “lolwut?”. Perhaps i’m being paranoid, but, really, you don’t need live access when playing this demo. As I said, this -is- a free demo and absolutely nothing should happen, and this is completely legal, but i’m just taking precautions. It goes without saying you have been warned.

Bonus Note.) The demo should work on any system and any profile, but, if, for some reason, it does not work for you, then you may need to resign it using a certain program that is probably illegal, so, you’re screwed.

P.S: This is not illegal. This is a freely-available demo.

New character revealed.

Character Roster is up to 13. ([t@guCJ[@5pb. Inc.bLN^?)

Meet Tin!

It’s ‘Fin’, actually

It’s cool that there are still new characters being revealed, though

Well now they’ve pretty much got all the stereotypes down pat.

I’m interested in [t@guCJ[@5pb. Inc.bLN^? though~

:looney:

I really need to stop looking forward to this game.

I don’t know… After seeing those match vids of two people fighting… the game looks more interesting. It seems to have all the basic fundamentals with unique elements to each character. I’m actually looking forward to try the demo out.

I will play it with you.

Weren’t you just potentially dissing it on the other page? @ ~ @

After trying the demo for a little bit… I have to say it’s pretty decent. The mechanics are sound and there are plenty of options to go about while fighting. Clashing and dodging is fun and yeah… it’s just an ok game overall.

Music is pretty interesting… kind of like it. Sprites look nice, but very generic looking with poor animation to boot.

Game is pretty damn fast. Don’t be fooled by the slow look of the game. All that clashing and dodging makes matches very hectic. You clash so damn often in this game.

I don’t know what to really think of it. It feels ambitious, but looks like it had a short development time with a low budget. I really wouldn’t mind buying it, but I have a feeling it’s one of those games people will drop in like 1 month.

There you go.

Still, the sound effects could still be better IMO.

That is the main heroine from Stein;Gate, she along with Rimi are cameo characters.

Also just learned that there is another male character in the series? Whats next for the DLC? The male lead from Stein’s Gate or Chaos;Head? Guess you can’t just have one guy.

Well I recorded the last round of me vs the cpu with Mikoto. You can see how much clashing there is in this game.

The game seems really easy to pick up. After 5 matches with the cpu I felt comfortable messing with the games system. But after 6 matches got fairly bored and stopped. If only I had someone willing to play this game.

Anyways I predict this game will flop.

I’ll prolly get it too! Let’s money match when i come back to chicago in august!!

Easy? I like easy. =D

The clashing and “just dodge” is really fucking cool in this game. A great game if you’re just playing it for fun.

I bring terrible news.

Phantom Breaker has been DELAYED

Xbox 360 2D Fighter Phantom Breaker Delayed

I shall begin crying now

That “XBOX 360” tag that appears in the new PV is like a big “fuck you” to me.

Loli fighting. The only thing that stops all fights and brings all the warring parties together on Shoryuken.

NEW UPDATE!!! I think!?

EDIT: FALSE ALARM.

Looks like this post was just about them adding Phantom Breaker characters to a collaboration game between the creators of Classic Dungeon 2 and Phantom Breaker. Laaaame.

ALSO:

Pre-order bonuses for various stores also contain these Ecchi pictures of Phantom Breaker characters. While we likely won’t be getting any of these since most gamestores in japan don’t ship internationally, they were kind enough to show us samples from the game’s website:

ALSO: Limited Edition Contents
-Phantom Breaker Soundtrack
-Appears to be some sort of jacket, but i’m not sure. It says maybe the jacket was replaced with some illustrations.

And that’s the result of my latest Phantom Breaker Research. Japan’s getting hyped for this it seems, with collaborations and all sorts of new information about the game coming out. Japan’s ready. But I wonder–are YOU Ready?

EDIT: I was doing even more research, and discovered there may be a 14th playable character in this game (Possibly the boss character)

Particularly, I looked at this game’s japanese wikipedia page since the japanese know everything, and discovered it lists 14 characters whereas we only know about 13.

So, I decided to try to find out which of the characters listed there is not one we already know about, and I believe it to be this character:

Infiniti
Voice: Dawn??
Age: Unknown. Occupation: boss.
Date of Birth: Unknown. Blood Type: unknown.
Height: 181cm. Weight: 75kg. Measurements: unknown.
Armor-FA-: Satoshi Tsutomu.
Technology Type: Unknown: Unknown.

Sounds like a boss character to me. So, 14 characters total then? If this game is really successful, who knows, we might even see some more DLC.
