Shouldnt this be on Capcom Unity?
Besides that, Its really Japan’s ordeal not the west’s so they’ll be the ones that Capcom would and should listen to. They’ll make some noise believe me.
(put it up on Capcom Unity anyway)
Way to shoot yourselves in the foot.
The best way to get an arcade release is to MAKE THE CONSOLE RELEASE SUCCESSFUL, not make it fail.
Having said that, though…I really want an arcade release for this. The larger the worldwide community for this game, the better.
So, consider this a signature for the petition.
There is much truth in this statement.
I don’t know what their reasoning is behind the decision, the recession?
The decision is going to be a bad one that will haunt them, if they don’t release this game in the arcade.
And while they’re at it, they should admit that their decision is wrong, and reverse it.
SF is the KING of fighting games, and shouldn’t let up on that, ever. If they do this, then they’re submitting to DEFEAT, which is WEAK. I’m sure it wasn’t Ono who decided this, as he’s clearly a cool dude.
If this decision stands, then whoever decided this shall be held responsible for the death of Street Fighter.
I’m very much open to hearing why my thoughts on this may be wrong.
Can you please try to explain the basis for your belief?
If I have that part of this wrong (not buying the console version in protest to the lack of arcade support), I would love to know why.
:china:
As an 09er who doesn’t have a SFIV arcade cabinet even within 100 miles of himself, I have to ask: why do you guys even care? More importantly, why does Japan even care? Why are people so committed to dishing out $$ to public arcades rather than paying for the game themselves and playing for free with each other elsewhere?
It seems like a waste of money to me. Quake players don’t pay per match, and Starcraft players don’t either. I’m sure there’s a good reason for this, I just want someone to explain it to me. Specifically, I want to know why the American’s love it and why the Japanese love it even more.
I support this petition.
This is far from Ono’s “last thing”. SF4 was a success, Capcom isn’t giving up on it lol.
I feel bad for you SF4 players, they didn’t even give the game a year via console. I bet there’s tons more to learn in that game, yet they’re already upgrading it.
It’s like… if 3s was upgraded to 4thstrike or w/e like 8 months after the release, nobody would know all the sick things you can do in 3s (urien unblockables, kara demons, kara grabs, dash crossups, ect ect.). SF4 needs way more time to develop.
edit: we should just petition to stop making consoles and start making arcades. It’s so much better then chilling at home lol.
Please see the edit I made to the first post in this thread.
Somebody tell these fools Tougeki and SBO are the same thing.
That was worded poorly: It should have said…if Tougeki forgets about SSF4, then its guaranteed not to be at SBO.
My bad, I will make an edit.
Also im starting to think that maybe Ono is trying garder support for the arcade release similar to the time he reported that “66% of Capcom doesn’t think continuing SF is a good idea” but then 3+weeks later, SSF4.
uh, where did you get this number from? Just curious
I’m down for the petition. If SSF4 doesn’t come to arcades… well what ever is left of american arcade gaming is gonna go bye bye.
i understand what you guys are doing, and i support it, but can you really take Ono seriously when he says something isnt happening? not too long ago, capcom thought continuing the series was a bad idea, and another version of sf4 was unlikely. now super is coming, so dont get all riled up over what he said in some interview
I can still see Japan playing outdated ass SFIV after SSFIV comes out. I will sign this though because I want to go to CTF and play some god damn SSFIV :crybaby:
I wouldn’t be surprised by this, it reminds me of this thread: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=207180 when Ono was talking about how the majority of Capcom didn’t want to continue SF at all, and it’s kind of implied that SF IV might not get any update at all, yet it’s clear by that time SSFIV was definitely in production, so it was really just trying to fire the fans up and draw more interest and attention to the series. Could very well be the same thing here.
Anyone who says they wont purchase SSF4 if it wont get an arcade release is simply full of it. As if you would stop playing the game you love to prove a point that you know will get ignored regardless. Don’t you think Capcom has already thought of every possible outcome to not porting it to arcade? Don’t turn this into a l4d2 boycott, which you know 90% of the members will buy the game.
So we just figure out those ATs ourselves? Is that too much? Are we incapable?
Once again, why can’t we just play the game and learn those things ourselves over time?
This is what I meant by the Japanese side of things. Why does SBO refuse to use anything but Arcade Cabinets? Why can’t they adapt? Why do Japanese players reject console releases and continue to waste their money in arcades when they could be playing an updated, cheaper game elsewhere?
