only heard the first 20 or 30 min.
talked about how far America has come.
in 3 months alone before his presidency 4 million jobs where lost, and another 4 million where lost he following year before HIS policies started taking effect. Since about late 2009 3 million jobs have been produced. He was one of the few who advocated for the saving of the American car companies when many where saying to let it tank.
In just 2 years GM has become the largest automobile maker in the world. and its still growing. Because of his persistence to bail out the automobile companies, people have started working again in Detroit, Cleavland, Toledo, and Chicago. He has also pushed strict policies on China where inspectors enter the country and monitor and ensure that brand products aren’t counterfeited, and has significantly helped American exports.
Also under his policies, for the first time since the late 90’s, companies have started pondering and importing jobs back to America. and also changing law to protect companies in America, and making America the biggest/one of the exporter again. Ensuring American security by investing in actual renewable sources so our livelihood isn’t dependent on such a chaotic and unstable region.
He also was talking about new policies. About taking away particular tax deduction companies got for exporting jobs. And setting up a system where companies who brought jobs back to tax cuts, and tech companies got x2 the cuts. Pretty much tax reform, and forcing companies to pay their fair share as well.
He also pushed to changing how the education is sold in America, changing the way education is approached. Rewarding good teachers, while getting rid of bad teachers. Lowering the intrest rate on school loans, and make it so that states pick up the budget on education, and forcing schools to become more efficient and lower tuition costs. Reformatting unemployment to re-employment, and turning community college into places where one could get actual skills that companies need. He talked about how companies want to move back because China and India are becoming inconveniences and want to move back, but the people don’t have the skills to work. And cited some initiatives companies like Siemens had taken to create a workforce.
Also talked about a time where Americans can work hard, provide more than enough so they can put away for retirement and pay for higher education.
Good points, but sounded like a re-election speech.
