Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena

Thank you based DevilTrigger

[details=Spoiler]-Air movement is a lot different. Labrys has a more averaged air dash, moving slower both forward and back. Shadow Labrys has a much faster forward air dash that appears to cover more ground, and a faster back air dash that doesn’t cover much ground at all, which is more like a little hop backwards

-Pound Combo (5AAA) is much faster than Labrys

-Labrys 5B can be charged (like Haku-men’s 6C). Shadow Labrys however cannot be charged.

-Normals in general seem to follow this simple rule, Labrys is slower but does more damage and Shadow Labrys is faster but does less damage.

-This rule also seems to apply to the numerous specials they share, including the R action and Guillotine Axe/Air specials

-While they seem to share the same throw, Shadow Labrys can follow up off hers without a One More cancel of some kind, as she can still control Asterios and input him to attack before/during the throw. This also applies to Brutal Impact, where Shadow Labrys can control Asterios while charging.

-Brutal Impact for Shadow Labrys are not unblockables like Labrys’ Brutal Impact.

-Outside of Persona specials, Shadow Labrys does not have access to any of Labrys Chain Knuckle moves.

-Shadow Labrys also has no access to Labrys Axe Gauge meter as well.

-Labrys can only control her Persona in the same standard way most other characters can, as she has to summon her Persona. Shadow Labrys does not have to summon Asterios however, so Asterios is free to act during anything Shadow Labrys is currently doing. Vice versa, Shadow Labrys isn’t tied to anything Asterios does outside his TV smashing super or activating his War of the Titans super. This means you’re essentially controlling both characters at all times that both of them are on the field.

-Lastly for now, Labrys has about 10000 health while Shadow Labrys has only 8000 health.[/details]

She is more “human” since P3. Especially AFTER P3 Fes The Answer.

On that note, yeah want to see the P3 character videos now especially Aigis. Glad Aigis got a remixed battle version of “Heartful Cry” as her theme. Love how they remixed the theme from Persona 3 Fes where Aigis had to defeat the other P3 SEES members

Here is the original one which is more emotional and solemn in contrast (Since you had to defeat your former party members)

So… does that mean it’s easier to Persona break S.Labrys? If so, the trade off seems to be worth it.

Most likely yes since it’s just out there compared to the rest of the casts’ Personas.

Shadow Labrys can hold 5D to make her Persona block. Asterios can’t lose primers/cards while blocking.

tear Some guy by the name of Orange Pork got credit for finding those pics instead of me. T_T I am like so… whatever dude. hah! No worries. As long as the love of P4U spreads, all is right in this world. n_n

I am Orange Pork. I did not mean to do that and I apologize. On the /vg/ thread it wouldn’t let me link here because of some URL filter, but I put your post in the Mayonaka Midnight thread.

My bad. orz

So, I was really excited about this game at first, but now I’ve sort’ve become ambivalent. After seeing a lot of the control mechanics (only qc motions and button based dragon punches and such) I’m not sure how I feel. Has anyone here played the game and can they tell me how intuitive the controls feel? I mean, I really want to play this game, and will get it regardless, but It’d suck if I end up struggling with the controls or something.

Also, random thought, I wonder if the game will have DLC characters. I really there’s a chance to get Yukari, Junpei, and MC3

The most complicated motion in the game is Down Down, or a double QCF; and you’re worried about struggling with controls? Are you a pad player worried about the button combinations? If so, it’s a 4 button game, so you can play with your fingers on the face buttons.

Yeah, pad player, and I’m sure there are macros or whatever, that’s not a huge problem. I’m just asking if the layout felt intuitive. Like does hitting 2-3 buttons at once in the middle of a combo feel natural? Is the lack of “complicated” motions any significantly better or worse? does the game feel like it has a transition period to get used to the new set up?

I’m asking this because I don’t hate more complicated motions too much as they’re easier to pick up than new button mechanics. (Though I realize this set up p4a uses is actually better for people new to fighters, which is a crowd it will surely draw)

to be fair, though, I think there’s a triple down or two, and those seem bananas.

I’m excited to play this. Looks badass.

And the color palettes are sexy as hell. That’s one thing I love about 2d games.

I wonder how much extra DLC colors they got in store?

Any of the socal heads intending to get this at WNF or the Runback? It give the game great exposure.

I don’t want James Chen commenting this game. He’ll make really bland and corny jokes while trying to take 20 minutes to explain what just happened in like a matter of 5 seconds. By the time he’s done, the match will be over. /hate

No worries dude. Thanks for spreading the word. The more hype for this game, the better. Cheers!

Sadly, I can’t see the image you posted.

Every time I leave the arcade I leave saying another character is “broken”

This game is fuckin awesome

Sent from my pussy using gurlllllltalk

If every character in this game is broken, does that mean that this game is balanced?

Question: on that infinite that was just discovered, how situational is it really? Stuff like that always worries me, even if I think it’s likely to get patched out eventually (Especially if they’re adding more chars down the road- did they say they wanted to do that?)
