Ok, I converted that post into a whole thread on DL.com and added some more details. Anyone who agrees or disagrees probably has an account and can take the discussion there (would be nice to show your support), and leave this thread for Persona 4: The Ultimate Mayonnaise talk.
(Might as well do this before I go for a walk.)
I really shouldn’t, but since I’m bored, I must ask: What need I clarify about that?
Eh, I don’t have a Dustloop account as of yet. I just lurk there.
I hope it gets some constructive feedback, though, and, yeah, it would be nice to have this thread not taken over by Blazblue/Guilty Gear talk.
No yeah. I totally agree with you. No way that anyone could misinterpret that. People are so weird, you know? I mean really.
Okay, okay. We get it. Now please people, STFU and let’s get back to talking about the actual game. Which looks awesome! Can’t wait to see more.
And Last Dragon, everyone can’t be Dudley in real life, like you. Besides a few set people and the news, SRK’s a pretty shitty place, filled with 3/4 kids and morons. Don’t come here expecting to disagree with a vast majority and expect not to be flamed, rather what you say is personal or not. In a perfect world and maybe IRL things wouldn’t be this way. When you post on SRK, you descend into a world of stupidity. You’re too classy for this place, you should go. And I’m being very serious with you.
Anyway, I hate it when companies announce a game with no vids. I wanna see it! Are there vids, yet?
Well people are going to call you names sometimes, and you have to learn how to roll with the punches. When you keep trying to defend your point in front of a crowd of people who strongly disagree with you, then you’re probably going to be on the receiving end on some name calling every once in a while! Shocking, really.
You’re right though, we shouldn’t focus on you, I just want to see some footage of this game already.
I should really check before I post
The game is going to be playable at TGS, so there should be plenty of vids soon enough.
Can’t wait
Last Dragon is now done posting in this thread. This thread will now be about “Persona 4”, and meta discussions can be held elsewhere.
Well, getting things back on subject?
It appears the P4 MC’s name will match the one that will be in the new P4 anime: “Yu Narukami”.
Guess that means all the Souji/Charlie/etc. fans will have to “conform”…
funky student better be the boss.
Patiently waiting for TGS. This is gonna be sooooooo good!
This is Mori we’re talking about, the game is gonna be hella fucking anime, play like a watered down version of an already well established game we’d all rather see a sequal too, have retarded DLC characters, a terrible meter system, it will have horribly annoying overused voice clips that are too long to finish and keep getting interrupted, and it’ll suck balls.
Fuck Blazeblue team.
The Persona team didn’t want to just have the BlazBlue team develop the game for them. Instead, they wanted the game to be a joint development project. According to Mori, game’s director Takumi Iguchiya (whom you’ll recognize as the lead programmer on the BlazBlue series) is working closely with the Persona team.

Weren’t they just working on the story and character specific stuff? I highly doubt the Persona staff is going to have much to say in game mechanics or the speed of the game anyways.
They may not be directly involved in developing the mechanics, but I see no reason why they can’t be involved in the general development process. They don’t actually have to be the ones programming it all to influence the direction they want it to take.
This is really an Atlus project after all, so they’re going to get the final say.
Still though, if Mori wants to make another Blazblue with Persona characters I don’t think the Persona team is going to argue as long as their characters are represented adequately.
That depends on what Atlus’ goal is with this game. They’re the ones who went to ASW in the first place, so I assume they had something in mind when they did. Perhaps it was nothing more than to make a Persona fighter, no matter what form it took, but they could very well have had a specific idea in mind from the start. The fact that they’re working closely with the lead programmer leads me to believe that they are not just handing over the reigns entirely to ASW. You don’t need to work with the programmer’s merely to write a story.
Maybe they’re just using the lead programmer as the messenger, or maybe the lead designer is just a huge fan of Persona and took the charge of being the one to work with them.
That quote clearly states otherwise. It was the Persona team’s decision to work closely with ArcSys and to make it a joint development project. The are “intimately involved”. None of that implies that they’re just sitting back and letting ASW do whatever they feel like.
