Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena

I’d say Labrys is the closest to makoto. that doesn’t mean much tho, as all characters are totally different from her.

LOL at Instant Kill glitches.

Official OST is out, PM me if interested.

You know, I used to really be enamored with the diversity of the cast and the unique tools they all bring to the table. Now it is starting to piss me off. I mean really, how do you decide on a character when so many of the choices are so appealing? Maybe when I can do pvp it will be easier to narrow them down…

Or I will never have a true main until I get Junpei.

Play whoever you win with the most.

And with that, my collection is finished.

I demand scans

I think people already uploaded all the scans of the middle book on Minitokyo already. You just have to do some digging.

After reading the interviews, I have to say, Soejima (the artist), is one handsome dude. :lovin:

/homo

Doesn’t have the version of “Reach Out to the Truth” that I want though (mirror match version).

It’s because the song was already released in P4’s OST. Same goes for other songs that were included in OSTs such as Mass Destruction and Battle Hymn of Souls from P3’s OSTs.

Am I the only one who thinks that most of the the characters seem to have lost “something” in the transition from Soejima’s original art to in game sprites.

I…never honestly thought of it that way before. Cannot wait til I get online.

That being said, are there certain characters that are especially good at punishing, or is that something too basic to define a character? Might be my low level experience only, but I like holding my ground and punishing people as a style, though ironically I never could zone well.

Labrys.

Labrys has punishment issues because her 5A is fuckoff slow, honestly. She also has to be actively attacking to keep her combo trees open and damage up.

Although you can totally win online by just doing counter hit B+D, 5AAAAA, with D super swapped in to kill last round.

I agree that Labrys has some drawbacks for being a punisher’s dream, largely the speed of her moves and inconsistent F.A (though when it hits, the damage is nicer than most). Even so, she does have some real strengths there.
2A is fast enough and can lead into interesting things even at green, specifically sweepxxsword or SBguilloxxsword combo. Counterhit 5B does strong damage at any level too, albeit worse positioning. Her anti air is quite effective too and does decent damage and good level.

Speaking of axe levels, I do not think she needs to be constantly bumrushing for them. she is likely not designed that way, since outside of j.B and 5A’s range she has issues getting in, and in matchups where she cannot spam the former she actually zones a bit early on.
It also takes to a lot less to get to yellow or even red than some people realize. Rather than constantly attacking to get into red, a punish combo might put you into yellow and good positioning to switch offensive, and a second one soon after will put you in red possibly threatening for the round.

She has drawbacks as a character in general, but that’s her game plan.

The easy answer I guess is just play Mitsuru, since that’s mostly what Mitsuru does, but she has to be more proactive about it. Yu, Naoto and Elizabeth can also be pretty good at playing patiently and converting into big damage, but in general, I’d say this is a very momentum-based game so you don’t want to base your strategy around punishing mistakes.

Well I use Labrys already so your answer pleased me. Yes, I am quickly finding out that the game does not actively support my style, but it is a nice thing to fall back on.

Also my fellow F rank players make so, so many mistakes to punish. I will indeed have to form my own offense once I rank up, however.
