Id say it is more similar to a Brooklyn/Bugs Bunny than it is a Bostonian, at least based on my lengthy experience with the two stereotypes.
So it is like how people take those with Osakan accents and make them Southern, only much more adorable.
Out of these characters, which 2 do people think would cover each other’s weaknesses the best? I guess I am still thinking in a sfxt mindset.
So has anyone had problems adjusting from fighting a skillful player to a newb? It’s really irritating when you just finish a fight with some one, who’s very good, then all of a sudden your next opponent doesn’t know what’s he/she doing as they play very randomly
If they do play similarly than learning her will be easier. I want a slightly faster Kenji which is why I’m drawn to Labrys. I gonna do some of her challenges and hope it works out for me.
Reversal actions are essentially your character’s scripted “get off me” moves, like Yu’s Shoryuken (Big Gamble) or Yukiko’s Dia. At the expense of a little HP, press 2 and 4 together. Should be the first of each character’s challlenges.
R-Action is B+D. The English manual calls them “Furious Actions”, I think, but “R-Action” (Reversal Action) makes more sense to me, so it’s the term I use when I’m talking about them as a group. Otherwise, I mostly just say “DP”, “Counter”, or “Reversal”.
Calling the buttons 1/2/3/4 is pretty confusing, especially since most players will use numbers to represent motions (2 is down and 4 is back)
I thought bout writing a mechanism / beginner guide, but haven’t had the urge to do so yet.
for starters these 2 pictures from the Kanji thread yield much information for new players - both for notation and mechanisms.
