Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena

Id say it is more similar to a Brooklyn/Bugs Bunny than it is a Bostonian, at least based on my lengthy experience with the two stereotypes.
So it is like how people take those with Osakan accents and make them Southern, only much more adorable.

Out of these characters, which 2 do people think would cover each other’s weaknesses the best? I guess I am still thinking in a sfxt mindset.

Labrys, SLabrys, Kanji, Yosuke, Teddie.

So has anyone had problems adjusting from fighting a skillful player to a newb? It’s really irritating when you just finish a fight with some one, who’s very good, then all of a sudden your next opponent doesn’t know what’s he/she doing as they play very randomly

Slab works well against all zoners. Kanji is okay against the rest. Teddie might be the most all rounded character (with Yu).

Persona 4 Arena on Revelations 2012

starting up now

That’s the classic curse of the low-mid level player. Learn to block and punish, basically.

Don’t watch Revelations (go read the FGD thread for why).

FinestKO has a tournament going too. http://www.twitch.tv/finestko

Wait, what? You have a link to the specific thread in FGD?

this is the case with any game

(edit: I copied the wrong link here, go down two posts)

Also they have the game music turned off, and the commentary sucks.

Your link directs right back to this thread. Also I hear music on their stream right now.

herp derp, I copied the wrong link…

… and they turned the music back on. That’s good.

If they do play similarly than learning her will be easier. I want a slightly faster Kenji which is why I’m drawn to Labrys. I gonna do some of her challenges and hope it works out for me.

Gah, how did I not see this until now? Of course, now I can’t watch it for about 45 minutes on account of Summerslam being on.

Slam Jam remix? Mandatory post, as this one is probably my favourite.

I don’t see any kind of beginner post, so I’ll ask here: what is an R-action and how do you do one?

Reversal actions are essentially your character’s scripted “get off me” moves, like Yu’s Shoryuken (Big Gamble) or Yukiko’s Dia. At the expense of a little HP, press 2 and 4 together. Should be the first of each character’s challlenges.

R-Action is B+D. The English manual calls them “Furious Actions”, I think, but “R-Action” (Reversal Action) makes more sense to me, so it’s the term I use when I’m talking about them as a group. Otherwise, I mostly just say “DP”, “Counter”, or “Reversal”.

Calling the buttons 1/2/3/4 is pretty confusing, especially since most players will use numbers to represent motions (2 is down and 4 is back)

I thought bout writing a mechanism / beginner guide, but haven’t had the urge to do so yet.
for starters these 2 pictures from the Kanji thread yield much information for new players - both for notation and mechanisms.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!.. THE GAME IS BROKEN!..

[S]@[/S]MarlinPie
just found something almost game breaking with chie. more on this later.

[S]@[/S]iamnotjanodx
[S]@[/S]MarlinPie What more game breaking can be than Chie itself?

[S]@[/S]MarlinPie
[S]@[/S]iamnotjanodx you just don’t know

If I get revealed of this stuff, I promise that I will not show it until Marlin shows this tech first… I respect him a lot to do mean shit to him.

Somehow I doubt it. He also broke Marvel right? Oh wait…
