Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena

Score Attack mode is not like BB where you can use the 2P tactic for unlimited continues. I made it pretty far now since you can just use exploited tactics and IK on 2nd round for free. Mitsuru screwed me with that instant freeze -_-.

Found this little gem

Persona doing Strong for week 2

“HEY YU WHATCHA GONNA DO?!”
“HEY YU WHATCHA GONNA DO?!”
“HEY YU WHATCHA GONNA DO?!”

Every online Match you complete regardless if you win or lose nets you a free title. I think when you level up you get a bonus amount of titles too.

I HATE rank since 90% of the time they SKIP the intro and make the match lag in the beginning -_-. Let that shit buffer everyone for smooth gameplay, swear its an automatic lagswitch.

sigh im at a crossroad. Mitsuru is by far my fav char, but Im so interested in picking up elizabeth as a side char cuz i love her char design and smugness. My only problem being, keepaway chars are a foreign concept to me. I always play the strong footsie/poke characters and the rushers. Does her whole game rely on her being fullscreen?

Elizabeth does not really play keep away, she just lets Thanatos(her Persona) do most of the destruction for her and capitalizes on getting knockdowns for big damage and reset setups. She is a Persona heavy usage fighter though. Mitsuru does fit the rushdown poke character you prefer to play as so i suggest Learning/play Mitsuru first then Start experimenting with Liz on her Persona setups

So which of the characters have the best oki game, if something even exists? Was a Fuerte player in Vanilla and am a King/Paul in sfxt, so if there is an oki based character I want to use them first. Kanji in the corner seems to do all right, and I heard Labrys has some meaties.

yu can put you into a nasty mixup after almost everyhit.

Yu and Chie have great oki.

Bah. Love Chie more than one should, but my tendency not to play the popularest characters is overwhelming. Glad to hear about Yu. He seems kinda tough to handle so far with his movement specials, though, but I have played all of an hour.

Can anyone quickly tell me how exactly oki works in this game? It just seems so fast and different compared to what I am used to.

Yeah Izanagi oki on knockdown is nasty lol i see people rather get yellow combo then take the risk of getting getting reseted by 50/50

I have this weird thing I’ve noticed where I pick 2 characters at the start of the game to go with and wind up almost instantly dropping one due to not being able to quite utilize them enough. Brosuke seems to be the victim of the dropping part this time, with Chie being the one I’m keeping so far. And kind of considering picking up Yukiko or maybe Naoto.

I’m thinking about getting a sub. Kanji will remain my #1 but I’ll like to have someone else in my pocket. Since my execution is shit I’ll like to main someone else who can deal decent damage without having to deal with complex stuff. I’m thinking Labrys at right now.

Labrys’ actually requires some execution if you want to do the 50% damage type stuff. Other than that she’s cake.

Also for what it’s worth, I had some instability on wireless, so I use a second router as a hotspot from my main router, then I connect the XBox wired to the second router. This seems to be much, much more stable than simply using the XBox wirelessly. For PS3 maybe this isn’t an issue.

I am actually thinking of the opposite: maining Labrys but having Kanji in my pocket. Thing is, don’t they play sort of similarly? It helps for learning both, but does playing one instead of the other benefit in any particular matchup? If not, I am thinking one of them for main and pocketing either Yosuke or Teddie.

Speaking of Labrys, does anyone know what kind of accent she has? It is prominent in cartoons but not really irl, some bastardization of a Brooklynite?

Mitsuru is so cheap. And so good. I’m trying to resist the call but it’s not working. aaaaargh

Yes, Its localization compensation for the Kansai accent in the Japan version. Interesting enough, the accent is actually a pretty prominent part about the Labrys character if you played the story. The Brooklyn talk does fit in with the people in the game calling it “weird/strange/noticable” accent/way of speaking in any rate

Big noob question sorry to bother everyone but I just purchased the glasses as well as colors and I cant seem to find out where to go to use them I only got the one for akihiko, chie, naoto plz help thx.

At character select it’s an added option when picking your character.

You have to pick them BEFORE you set-up a ranked or player match. The very first selection, I had the same problem lol

In the Japanese version of the game, Labrys speaks in the accent of the Kansai region. In the English version, since there is no definite equivalent to a Kansai accent in English, a Boston accent is used to emulate it although her backstory is not changed at all to “accomidate”.

What arcades over in japan, have the strongest players/p4 scene?
