Every once in a while, Fry’s drops $10 off of a brand new game. So yeah, I’m glad they did it with this one.
And I thought the soundtracks were only a pre-order bonus too, but they’re not. It looks like they’re included with the first print copies of Persona 4 Arena.
Every copy I saw at Fry’s had a soundtrack included.
I went to gamestop after work to get my copy praying that they had it in stock. the clerk scared the shit out of me cuz she looked puzzled when I ask for the game. I didn’t get to check how many copies were left but I too got a soundtrack with it. 6 songs only come on this cd though idk if its the same for everybody who gets a new copy
Yeah, the soundtrack only comes with six tracks. It’s why I didn’t bother to pre-order to get the bonus. (But I’m glad I ended up getting it anyways with my copy.)
Six isn’t a lot for a bonus soundtrack, especially after KOFXIII’s bonus soundtrack, but at least they’re six very good pieces of music.
Hold up, checking trail mode, how do you do Mitsuru 2B into down up charge ice move while dashing?
The demo dashes up, does 2B into it like if it’s just a normal move. WTF?
Well to be fair, Its arranged non-gameplay present music that averages 4+ min long which is around twice the length of the gameplay versions. However, it is still a shame that only 6/13 got arranged dedications and not the whole cast.
I just threw my soundtrack on the floor thing wont ever get used. I play with TV muted anyways listen to my own music, it was nice to get it though I guess.
Ya, I heard a little bit of it on a stream of ingame but with commentary over it, sounds pretty good. Not playing right now sad that I got the 360 version since the online is ass atm. Wish my PS360+ would hurry up…
Well at least they’re planning on patching the Xbox 360 this week (at least that’s what I’ve heard.) I can’t play until sometime next week or later, either.
I am glad though that I don’t have to buy any DLC navigators or try to unlock any of them, since the game already has my favorite as the default.
I’m glad to see they split up the DLC too, since I’m only planning on getting alternate colors and maybe some glasses for one character.
A bit off topic, but did your Fry’s sell Japanese import games at one point? I remember seeing my local Fry’s stock up on import PSP and DS games, and now they don’t anymore, which is probably pointless to still do now as the PSP is dead in America and the DS is on its last legs as well.
It really is, especially when they decided to omit Naoto’s arranged theme song in the game which they included in Mitsuru’s tutorial vid.
I guess I lucked out, lol. For the first time in a pretty long while I actually got a sealed new game from gamestop (the last two I got were unsealed even though they were what i presumed would be popular games, compared to this one)
I too was a little bummed out that the OST was 6 tracks, but they weren’t to shabby. Game itself is interesting from what I’ve played, and very fun considering me and a pal just slugged it out for a couple of hours and ignored the movelists for the hell of it. I’ll eventually get around to being cereal about learning the controls (I definitely have to re-macro things, because L3/R3 macros are the dumbest thing)
I never saw any personally, but I wouldn’t be surprised with what else I found there. For example, one day I found this there a few weeks after release. (And I’m not sure, but it was a Gamestop only bonus at the time I think.)

And why do they have Naoto’s theme song in Mitsuru’s tutorial? That seems kind of odd.
So what kind of characters is everyone seeing online so far?
The challenge display shows the arcade button layout, but the text tells you which button to hit if you’re using a non-standard one.
Is it also your first Arc System Works game? ASW is the company responsible for most of the gameplay mechanics and such.
Keep at it and you’ll get it eventually, but also try and play some AI matches to help you adjust; don’t just do challenges or you very well may get frustrated or burnt out, and it’s a lot easier to remember to hit :d:+B to antiair when you’re getting results, for instance. Some of the challenge combos are genuinely hard, so don’t be too upset if you can’t get them right away.
As for other words of encouragement… [1] The box layout took me a little bit to adjust to (and honestly I’m still not quite there yet in terms of “instant” reactions to throws), but it makes a ton of sense for the game once you get used to it. [2] I can’t begin to guess how long it took me to be able to air-jump-cancel correctly in ASW games. ASW JC timing has always felt good bit stricter to me than other games with JCs (like Melty Blood). [3] When you go to learn a character on a more advanced level, it may help focus on combo components more than whole combos at first and learn to string them together later. I learn faster this way, in any case, plus it denotes a decent understanding of your character’s combo theory which you might otherwise miss out on.
If you prefer arrows to numbers, here you go, but it looks pretty awkward to me, and there’s no good pictorial representation for [hold] or ]release[:
:d:A+B :f: ( :d:A+B hits ) OMC :f:[:d:] (delay) B ]:d:[ :u:C
edit: You can probably also do 2A+B OMC 66[2] B ]2[ 8C, but 6OMC6 is the easier motion. Look up a tutorial on how to dash instantly out of a RC / FRC; I-No used this a lot in GG.
Anyone complaining about the English voices is on the East’s nuts, for real. VO in this game is really good. Cliche’d voices, sure, but the quality in terms of delivery is among the best I’ve seen in a Japanese game.
