I figures as wrong as I was (completely idiotic) i’ll “pick your brain little” to find more, I am interested in RGB video connections
I am assuming for getting RGB signals out of almost every console isn’t going to be cheap.
Putting aside consoles with HDMI/DVI, VGA and Scart connections what other options are available.
As for my own personal use I not bothering with RGB on the NES as its been though enough as is as I mix and match parts from 2 broken consoles to get one in good working order, only the 72 pin game cart connector is brand new.
Then I be came more confused dose it matter if there a Chroma and luma split in the video signal compared to RGB or are these 2 separate methods to get the same results?
Why do you need a vga switch. Do you have a second device using vga like a dreamcast, or am I missing something.
I went total ocd and set up cable tie mounts in a grid fashion on the back of my component shelf, and organized my cabling that way.
A lot of 16 bit and older consoles have rgb out, either directly available like the snes or genesis with the appropriate cable, or easily accessible for a modder like n64, pce. Later consoles all have component or better. Older stuff is hit and miss - a lot of the computer systems have rgb out, but stuff like atari 2600 and such have at best s-video after modding.
The only really hard one is NES, and emulation of that is pretty good these days.
Not just for me, I figure I can’t be the only one who can benefit from such a thing so I’ve been asking and googling and figure I’ll chalk it up to writing practice.
This thread was for finding people who’d be willing to mod consoles for RGB.
