That’s the spirit! Keep up that positive attitude!
I guess playing a game you enjoy isn’t enough for some folks. Hopefully Fanatiq picking the game up attracts more established players, so people no longer feel they’ve picked the wrong horse in this race.
Personally, I find it difficult to write about Peacock in a structured way. All of the aspects of her play bleed into one another, so it’s hard figuring out which thread to add new stuff. It’s why I prefer just putting out match videos.
You want to know what’s really discouraging? On any given day a youtube search for Skullgirls will give you, at most, half a dozen videos. Three of of those won’t even be related to the game and one of them will be a video I uploaded. I was excited to see a bunch of videos uploaded today, only to see a tournament full of players who looked like they were touching the game for the first time. While that can be seen as a good sign, searching umvc3 will get you pages of videos that are at least decent.
I’m still pressing on, though. Just yesterday, the day after buying a microphone and in the same week as my first failed attempt at streaming, my capture software updated to allow both live audio overlay and direct streaming to Twitch, so we’ll see how that works out. The tutorial video is the first thing I have planned for the setup. Once my disaster of a roommate moves out, I’m gonna try to host and stream some local sessions.
If you want to see the game grow, stick around and do whatever you can to help. If not, by all means, go ahead and drop out. Hopefully there’ll still be a scene for you to come back to, if and when you do.
And here I am, powering through making Cerebella guides… maybe I should take a break as well. After all, the way Mike talks, having NO additional dlc outside of colors is a very real possibility… Would it be so bad if I just show up to buy dlc until there are 12 or so characters?
@Dime_x even if the information is all there, it’s a right mess. Some order, organization, or a compilation handbook of the entire thing with a table of contents would be fantascular.
That’s pretty easy to say when you have access to the patch, mr PSN. >___>
Also, playing a fighting game that you enjoy ALONE doesn’t really cut it. For some people, posting up vids on a dead forum is enough, and for some it’s not. Again, maybe xbl patch will change this for me personally (which is the only person I care abt in this instance, tbh). =/
Hey, I feel you on the lack of the XBL patch. My most accessible local spot is all 360, so there’s no hope of reviving the scene there until the patch hits.
On topic, I’m havng a ton of fun making greater use of Lenny. It can seriouly backfire, but it’s amazing when it works.
So this video…I’ve tried recoring it a couple of times, but it hasn’t worked out. I’ll head into training mode to warm up, but end up finding something new. Next thing I know, it’s 45 minutes later and I have to get ready for work.
Since it’s still waiting to be made, it got me thinking. What would people think about me streaming it, so that people could ask questions/provide input? I did a test stream that went okay, plus I can upload a higher quality version later. I was thinking either tomorrow or Thursday, before Salty Cupcakes.
Well, that’s not happening. Just found out that no one signed up for utilities at my place and I don’t have all the necessary documents to sign up and get them turned on, so I’m without power for the time being.
