Peacock Thread: Straight From Toontown

Same here. I admit to being fairly skeptical that such a thing exists and you are unwilling to explain it to those who won’t/can’t fight you for it.

Prouddisciple you play a little aggresively, I’d suggest slowing it down a little bit and using your qcf+lp and item drop more after you’ve backed away, otherwise you look good

@Prouddisciple If you are going to send a projectile down range, use s.hp that way you can special cancel it to react to the situation.

Thanks guys I appreciate the critiques. I really don’t try and run away the whole match and am trying to learn decent bnbs on the go.

Thanks guys I appreciate the input.

S.hp is the key to the ultimate lockdown

I can see that.

Ugh. Been playing since launch and i still can’t do peacocks midscreen combos since they all involve airdash cancelling. Every time i try to adc, i either drop the combo from doing it to early (i get no forward momentum) or i drop the combo from doing it to late (i get the forward momentum, but the hitstun has wore off).

How are the average-to-low execution peacock players doing her bnb’s? Is there some trick that i havent seen yet? IMO this is prolly the only thing really holding me back from steamrolling people with peacock right now. If i just have to keep patiently grinding those combos out, fine. Its what ive been doing anyway, i just havent seen much improvement.

My execution is closer to low than average, and even I can do sLPx2, sMP, sHP(2 hits)xx126HPxx236PP. So, Instead of dropping combos trying to do fancy stuff, I advise you to just do simple combos like that one or throw->236PP, all while avoiding close range at all costs, and concentrating in zoning the opponent. I know people with good execution will get more mileage from those close range openings than what I do whith my crappy combos, but I certainly do better when I’m not trying to be fancy.

Learn your bnb airdash stuff. Grind that combo 10000 times like i did. Tips. Hit as soon as you input st.mk. Too high means you cant follow up on the ground

lmao Im going to kill you that was toooooooo funny

Well, My execution is THROUGH THE FLOOR courtesy of disabilities, However i can just about do the airdash BnB about 40% of the time, what you need to do is airdash the instant you do the first j.mp and then wait a little bit before press j.lp, if you press it too early she doesnt actually move forward and then the opponent will be out of reach (unless in a corner)

Best of luck in your grinding!

Thats EXACTLY the problem ive been having. Its just the timing i guess.

Oh well, I’ll get it down eventually. Gotta keep grinding i guess. I love this character too much to give up on her because a necessary combo is tough. Peacocks left/right mixups with her teleport and an assist are just too strong for players to not know her combos IMO.

see for me the issue is getting the initial j.lp,j.lk(1hit),j.mp bit down, i tend to press j.mp early and get the entire j.lk…which i do not want XD

Yeah, just practice. Once you get the timing, it’s easy. One tip is to time it by the “jet” sound of the dash, but you can’t always rely on audio cues in noisy tourney environments.

Now I need to learn the corner loops!

(and another character haha)

by jet you mean to ‘woop’ noise which occurs? Yeah thats actually a pretty good indicator of timing it well, but you cant really wait for it as you have to press j.LP at the same time as the noise really :L

And whats this about a different character? solo peacock all day XD

Had no idea the kitchen sink was an actual item until now when I was trying to get the achievement. Just added the item to the guide.

Ah yeah. Woop not jet (that’s back dash). Concepts the same though.

And while I like solo p, she’s begging for an anti air! Especially vs. doublebooty/painwheel pressure.

Fair enough, I’ve been using Heavy item drop as my anti pressure attack, Because i can keep charging when blocking, I can let go of it at any time to hit them and if theyre RIGHT IN MY FACE when i drop a lvl.2 i can combo them for it. If it happens once you know full well that they will be more wary about pressuring you

I’m trying to watch more videos to see if I’m the only Peacock doing a certain something.

It’s not amazing or anything, but it helps.

I’ll get back to it later :3
