House opens at 12:00PM.
Bracketing starts at 4:00 PM.
All players welcome.
Beware this a mature environment.
BRING YOUR OWN STICK.
DIRECTIONS:
If you are a first time visitor, I do not live in the front of the building.
Do not simply arrive and look for my place, it is very hidden and I cannot hear you knocking down in my game room.
Call me and let me know you are coming, and I will tell you how to actually get into my house.
90 minute paid parking is available on the cul-de-sac-to the right of the stop light at my house. There is also a lot really close on College St., on weekends it’s $2.95 all day, it’s the lot behind the row of restaurant carts over on 4th st.
Do not park at Lloyd Center and ride the Max over.
One of our players got their car stolen from that lot.
This week is open again, Drew and Simon have expressed mild interest, Kurt will be over, and BBH declined in lieu of “games at someone else’s place” . R.Panda is not able to make it and Pasqual will be absent but he will be working which means maybe next time HE will buy the pizza and hamburgers. (Kidding, he pitched in last time). I would like to see more interest in some down home living room matches, all are welcome.
I don’t really have transportation, so I’m limited to bus, and I don’t really have exp with sf. However I’d love to feed some win counters, learn and meet new people if all are welcome.
I’ll try to figure out the travel issue, and if it’s not a problem, I’d like to go.
If you have any questions or need any help just call and I will look it up or whatever you need. If you are into playing fighting games heavily then this would be the kind of thing you would enjoy, but its really focused on making some of the midrange SF4 players in our local talent pool better at the game so they can rise in the local ranked battles so you would possibly get mauled endlessly, but who knows…
Yeah, I know space is an issue so if you don’t want me clogging things up I totally understand.
I used to play 3s pretty heavily, and I’ve messed around with some other games. I don’t profess to be much good, but I learn quick. I looked up the route on mapquest, etc. and I can probably get there if you think you’ll have room.
And I’m used to getting mauled, best way to learn haha.
EDIT: what sort of things are needed? Do you have sticks or do we need to bring our own?
Well, thank you to Grey_Fox for coming out and bringing some game skills that seemed to work out just fine, and big thanks to Simon for all his input and various stable of characters. Thanks to Kurt as always for his presence with a strong Gen with impeccable blocking skills, and thanks to Hien for almost making it, I hope you recover from that accidental nap and get back on your feet stronger than ever.
I think progression was had by all,
I am looking forward to next Saturday.
Thank you all again for coming out to play.
-Replays are on the way.
-Simon, I am grabbing every incarnation of Mortal Kombat I can.
Thanks for having me over, sorry I wasn’t much competition but I’ll try to read up or some such before coming over next time.
Is there any way to fix the other games so that we aren’t stuck with the character we win with? I think even arcade emulators have toggle-able modes for that.
I might try to bring some drinks or some snacks next time. If people want to pitch in together for a pizza or something I’m down.
Hopefully I eventually get a stick or my own copy of sf4 so I can practice too.
Thanks again for the games, it was very informative.
If you want to change characters we can reset the machine between matches, hopefully it’s not too annoying to do that.
Just for kicks I would like to slowly add every emulatable or playable game that I can think of so if you have suggestions that aren’t on the list I am open to hearing them.
