PC version?

PC gamers are a different breed entirely. Different factors goes into what will sell a PC game. Even if it was a “ripoff half-game” won’t be enough to scare them as such things are common on PC. You think this game was bad then Sword of the Stars will make you throw your PC out the window. Any game developed by Bethesda would definitely be out of the question.

If the PC of this game develops a decent modding scene that in itself will sell the game. Warcraft III continued to sell for years thanks to DotA, a mod that was created using the game’s World Editor. The mod became so popular a tournament scene developed from it and spawned an entirely new genre. You have it to thank for games like League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth. Mods are the biggest appeal to playing Elder Scolls on PC. If some of the SFIV mod guys hop on SFxT they’ll be enough for me to double dip into PC.

I won’t get the game for pc until it goes on a steam sale for 5$ and then only if I have seen some awesome mods. But capcoms PC modding fan base is usually pretty epic. I still use my psylocke mods for sf4 and RE5

So I bought AE for PC physical disc. And… It kinda sucks. What the hell is with this GFWL crap?! I can’t even sign into the thing. It keeps giving me an error. I’m kinda iffy on SFxT now because I don’t wanna deal with this shit. Do things get better if you buy through Steam?

No. Steam is a great service, but you are still using GFWL. If you be more specific about the error though I don’t mind trying to help you through it. GWFL is notorious for being a horrible, horrible matchmaking service.

The other reason for this is that it’s a hassle to keep multiple versions up to date with each other. This is the same reason Valve is dropping cross platform from their new Counter-Strike.

Well I already returned it. The less GFWL the better. I will happily pay the extra money or maybe just not even get the game. I’m so angry at it.

Buy digital key and save it somewhere coz if you’ll reinstall windows you’ll need it but
GWFL is so fucked I lost all BP/PP and everything after I reinstalled Windows :@ (I saved my X-Live files too)
and all colors and all trials and … but key works that’s what matters

GFWL is bad,but is not terrible. It’s a beast you have to tame. I played on PC since Vanilla SF4, although I play on PSN too, the community here is bigger on PC.

Once you adapt to its quirks, and build a reasonable friend list,it’s not that bad, and AE is actually a GREAT port,that you can play on a not so high end notebook even.

I’m gonna get SFxTK for PC too, anyone know if capcom is going to sell it directly from their store like they did with AE?

Capcom Store will have the game on release date. If you like Jack Sparrow and his kind of people, the PC version is already out there in the seas.

Game has been leaked. Controls are annoying as hell to set up first time, but the port is pretty good and runs nicely. You’ll be fine if you can run sf4.

i like the customization of menu keys, in AE PC they had complaints because the in-game menu buttons differed from the main menu buttons with no option to customize them

also the engine seems more optimized. i got >100fps and grade A in the benchmark @ 1680x1050, whereas in AE PC the best resolution i can use is 1280x720

anyway, come on already with the Steam release so i can take this puppy online

i have a very big problem with diagonal move registering.
quater-circles i do registering as down,forward and down, back with nothing inbetween and QCF and QCB moves barely come out. it scares me.

I’m not having that problem. Maybe it’s your controller? I’m using an SF4 fightpad.

maybe its the pad, but i didnt have such problem in sf4.
the thing is, i am gonna use easy input because of this crap. its just unplayable, moves come out one time out of 5. it just doesnt register down-forward and down-back at all.

May I recommend http://www.hori.jp/us/Products/PS3/ps3_fc3pro/index.htm ? Great pad, works out of the box on pc and no drivers required.

Yes. I’ve had the pc version pre-ordered since it went up on steam. Why?

1. Fighting games on PC? Yes please. Support that shit!
2. Because I hate the ps3 and xbox messaging systems… GFWL isn’t much better but at least I’ll have steam chat.
3. Finally able to mod out some of the terrible music in SFxT.

I’ve seen other sources saying that a PC release was a typo, so I’m not sure if it’ll happen or not. What’s the consensus around here? Does anyone even care about a PC release?

I’m getting it. Being able to have a mobile casuals set up is great for me. Even when no one wants to play at weeklies I can be out and about with the scene and be able to play without hogging a set up.
