PC version?

a quick search here didn’t net any results, so I figured I’d start up a discussion.

Wikipedia lists SFxT for a May 11th release in North America, May 14th in Europe.

I’ve seen other sources saying that a PC release was a typo, so I’m not sure if it’ll happen or not. What’s the consensus around here? Does anyone even care about a PC release?

The PC release being a typo was around when the game was first announced. They weren’t supposed to announce it for PC, but did accidentally. It is definitely coming to PC on May 11th.

And yes, lots of people care about the PC release.

People who want to easily obtain the full game.

have they said anything about local 2v2 vs online for the PC version?

I’ll assume by that you mean easily buying and downloading the game online, rather than the vain jab at other ‘unofficial’ methods. A google search tells me there’s been ‘unofficial downloads’ available for SFxT since the 3rd of march for the Xbox version… 5 days before release.

You assume wrong.

A couple days before Diablo 3 how inconvenient for Capcom. What’s all the shush shush around here for anyway, we all know they’ll be plenty folks here (check the PC mod thread, talk about subtlety  ) to be pirating the fuck out of this game because Capcom loves to be a hot topic and everybody is waiting for the DLC unlocks so we can finally dick around with Bryan and stuff.

No word, but I wouldn’t count on it. They already stamped out the cross platform play between PC and X360 players since apparently they need to ‘find a way to make every PC player a Gold member.’ PC version will be using shitty G4WL which uses the same Xbox Live ID things. If they can’t get it to work on X360’s online architecture they’ll certainly won’t for the PC version.

PC version will be free and have everything unlocked :wink2:, so yeah I’ll probably give it a try considering Capcom’s way of doing business lately.

The 360 version lost it because of an issue in the way the 360 handles multiple online players locally (which is something Capcom’s never dealt with before).

the PC version could very well feature the function.

The other reason for this is that it’s a hassle to keep multiple versions up to date with each other. This is the same reason Valve is dropping cross platform from their new Counter-Strike.

this.

Make sure to tell everyone how so I can send you away for a year.

fully unlocked Vita version: $40

fully unlocked PS3/360 version: $100+

make sense?

the masses of pirates are simply bringing balance to the universe, i believe it’s called karma.

saw this on Capcom Unity

so if the release day of May11 still holds, we can preorder Apr11. imo, i doubt they’ll add anything for pre-orderers other than a slight discount

now available to preorder on Steam

Sweet.

Like anyone is going to buy it.
And even for the few people that do, enjoy playing against the same 10 morons who actually paid for this ripoff half-game.

Thanks, I will.

The only thing I find slightly irritating is that it appears the PC version is now more expensive to buy than the console version, and they haven’t made any announcements about the edition-exclusives. I don’t care at all about gems, but I get ticked off when the PC port doesn’t have all the console content just on principle.

There is no local Co-Op for PC either o_O This was front page news awhile ago…same the the DLC not being on the PC disk…It seems that Capcom are finally taking “some” safety measures now

I’m not sure about cross-platform interaction but it seems like thats a gimmick that Sony had pad and invested into aswell, besides their extra characters…and working couch co-op…so idk.

We don’t appreciate this kind of post here. Enjoy the intraction.

PC gamers are a different breed entirely. Different factors goes into what will sell a PC game. Even if it was a “ripoff half-game” won’t be enough to scare them as such things are common on PC. You think this game was bad then Sword of the Stars will make you throw your PC out the window. Any game developed by Bethesda would definitely be out of the question.

If the PC of this game develops a decent modding scene that in itself will sell the game. Warcraft III continued to sell for years thanks to DotA, a mod that was created using the game’s World Editor. The mod became so popular a tournament scene developed from it and spawned an entirely new genre. You have it to thank for games like League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth. Mods are the biggest appeal to playing Elder Scolls on PC. If some of the SFIV mod guys hop on SFxT they’ll be enough for me to double dip into PC.
