PC version of MvC3 what do you think about it?

I’d like to see one but until there is a way to reduce pirating, I don’t see it happening.

Not only that but since SFIV released on PC, PC players started demanding more fighting games and it’s getting out of control. The way I see it is that if you can afford a PC to play SFIV on, you have enough money to blow on a console, so I don’t see why PC gamers just don’t buy a 360 or PS3 instead of complaining for days on end for more fighting games on PC.

There are a lot of games that most players wish that was on their console but sadly, it isn’t and if we want to play those games, we will have to buy the console that host said game. Boo hoo, Tatsunoko vs Capcom is only on the wii. Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix is only on PS3 and Xbox. Halo is only on 360. Little Big Planet is only on the PS3. Give it a rest. If capcom makes Marvel vs Capcom 3 for PC, great! If they don’t make it after 4-6 months after the console release, let it go.

Do I think it’s fair that PC doesn’t see more quality fighting game releases? No
Do I think pirating on PC is huge when compared to new gen console? Yes
Do I think PC gamers complain way too much when a game isn’t on their console? Hell Yes

Pc games are always cheaper than the console versions (probably because manufacturers understand you’ve more than likely already paid through the nose for hardware that can run the game in the first place, or because they don’t have extra overhead from Sony or Microsoft). As the scottish say, “Shut yer mouth aboot matters ye dunnae ken, woman!” I’d buy the ps3 and pc versions…but the pc version purchase will be a few months later.

Even so, PC version is rarely half price, usually 60 dollar console games’ pc equivalents sell for 50 USD. Unless you’re Activision and sell both platforms for $60.

When you specifically mention that you’d like it cheaper, you wanting a lower price point (if not a $0 pricepoint :p) is a reasonable connection to make >>

Uh, you’re basing that on a sample size of two. The first of which was ported. The second of which did not sell nearly as well as the first.

This isn’t JUST Capcom’s decision anymore, and when their own game getting a PC release is a big question mark just imagine how far off this is with Marvel having to agree as well.

Sucks I know.

Lets find a job to buy a damm ps3 or xbox360…

It really sucks for me coz i have $700 but i REALLY need a new pc, mine is gonna explode soon

You can build a damn good pc for like…let’s see

60 or so for the graphics card

80 or so for 4gig ddr2-3

50 for the case

60 or so for the mobo

40 for the power supply (in some cases, comes with the case)

and around 80 for a quad core processor. Just hit up your local compusa.

Assembly time is less than an hour, even for a noob like me. Oh and you have to…“obtain” a copy of Windows. Don’t care how you do it…just sayin’.

Not even close. You think Street Fighter is the only game Capcom has made PC ports for?

Exactly. And those are becoming a big part of the “pirates” with absolutely no sense of guilt because they think, they already payed for this. (Or waiting for the next birthday, xmas lasts too long and mommy won’t give pocket money again, only because her child wants to check how Cammy looks with naked costume…)
And then they flood any PC related topic and try to blame PC (only) users for piracy.

Exaggerated? Yes, maybe. But with an ounce of truth.

Ontopic: Of course I hope there will be a PC version of MvC3. But if we recall the past it’s nonsense to expect anything from Capcom. Just wait and be happy when it hits the shelves. This calms one’s nerves.

I just assumed you were talking about fighting games because if you weren’t then you were just straight up wrong.

Capcom games are usually $40 for PC and with pre-order discounts it’s possible to get them for almost half price (got SF4 for $35, free shipping, no tax). Though this is not the norm for other publishers, which do fall inline with them being $10 cheaper than the console versions.

The only people who would pirate a fighting game are people who really have no interest in fighters in the first place (they think a game sucks if the cpu is easy to beat, and think other players are “cheating” for 1) blocking, 2) using projectiles, and 3) comboing them.), and just did it just because. The people who actually want it and look forward to it are the people who’d hit dat shit day one. That’s why a pc release couple months later makes sense. Everybody who really wants it will snatch it up day/month 1 on console, then nab a copy when the pc version (high-res woot!!) drops.

I’ve commented in this thread already, but just thought I’d share my opinion again… Personally I approve of the idea as long as they concentrate on the console versions first. Although to be honest I’d much preffer an arcade version, however that’s even less likely than a PC version…

Why even bother with an arcade version? so we can have like 4 cabs in America and get the home version delayed another 6 months for everyone? Waste of time and money. A home version is the only way over 80% of us would ever get a chance to play this game, even if there was an arcade version in the future.

Arcade version will show up only if japan likes the game. That remains to be seen.

Did you miss the part where I said I want them to concentrate on the console versions first?

I think there should be an arcade version too, but let them first finish the console version completely. And if they have plans for console DLC like new characters, character changes, stages, music etc, they should wait for that big update to make the Arcade edition. Not like th problem we’re having with SSF4.

Do they ever, though? They’d delay the home version’s as-is release, add a bunch of stuff to the build, release that as a suped-up arcade version, then release the regular home version, and have the stuff that was added to the arcade’s release as dlc. Later than it would have been release without an arcade version, of course. Search your feelings. You know this to be true.

MvC3 uses Capcom’s MT Framework. The PC version will be finished when the console version is finished, regardless of how they “concentrate”. All that matters is whether or not they actually want to sell a PC version.
